Beijing Long'an Temle

Long'an Temple is located near Yuan Chonghuan Temple in Dongcheng District, Beijing. The temple was built in the fifth year of Jingtai in the Ming Dynasty (1454) and is a Buddhist temple in the outer city of Beijing. Now there are still some buildings in the ancient temple, the west side is not open to the public, and the east side has been turned into the Chongwen Youth Science and Technology Museum. The existing form was rebuilt in the 47th year of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty (1708), but there are still some architectural styles of Ming Dynasty temples in it. Long'an Temple faces south and the main buildings include the mountain gate, the front hall, the Daxiong Hall, the apse of the "Pure Land Society", and a stage behind the front hall. The main halls are all hard mountain green glazed tile roofs, majestic. There are several Ming and Qing stele inscriptions preserved in the temple. The earlier one is the Ming Jingtai five-year stele, which describes the process of creating Long'an Temple. In the backyard, there are two more than 500-year-old ancient cypresses and two rare trees in Beijing, witnessing the rise and fall of this ancient temple. Now we can't go inside the temple to see what's going on, we can only get a glimpse of it through the mountain gate and the lush ancient trees outside.
