The Battle of Osterlitz (December 2, 1805) was a famous battle in the Napoleonic Wars. The 75,000-strong French army, under Napoleon's command, won a decisive victory over the 87,000-Austrian coalition in the village of Osterlitz in Bohemia (in the present-day Czech territory). The Third Anti-French Alliance disintegrated and led directly to the Austrian emperor's removal the following year of the Holy Roman Emperor. The battle was fought by the three great powers of Europe, Emperor Franz II, Tsar Alexander I, and the First Emperor of France, Napoleon, who were all present on the battlefield, also known as the "Battle of the Three Emperors".
