A small square, not far from the Holy Church of the Holy Father, crosses an alley. A bronze statue was erected on the square station, which reads Simon Steven, which should be set up in memory of him. There are some seats in the square for the public to use.
The statue's character is Simon Steven, a Bruges-born mathematician, physicist and military engineer who also worked as a teacher and adviser to Prince Morris. The land windmill (wind four wheels) I saw at the Frans Halls Museum in Harlem was his invention, faster than a carriage. He was said to have also done two experiments with different weights of iron balls falling from high places, earlier than Galileo, but only known Galileo.
