Bailong Temple

Bailong Temple is located in Hengshanqiao Town, Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, south of the Yangtze River and north of Taihu Lake, under the Hengshanqiao intersection of Shanghai-Nanjing Expressway. The temple faces south and is built on the mountain. It is surrounded by mountains and waters, with pavilions and towers. It is magnificent and full of birdsong and flowers in all seasons. There are many natural landscapes here. Before the Han Dynasty, there were relics of yellow cats that spewed gold during the day and silver at night on Huangmaoling; Dengxiantai in the Wei and Jin Dynasties; Inner and Outer Dragon Ponds formed by Cao Heng fighting snakes in the Jin Dynasty; Longjing, the holy site of the White Dragon Goddess in the Song Dynasty, etc. There are rich plants in the temple, and various ancient trees such as ancient boxwood, ancient Nandina, and ancient osmanthus trees are lush and green. There are two thousand-year-old ginkgo trees (also known as love and harmony trees) in front of the temple. The tree height is towering into the sky and the tree circumference is thick; five large cherry trees are full of fruits every autumn, and the fruit fragrance is fragrant. An ancient magnolia tree over 300 years old has a tall and straight trunk. Every early spring, the silver flowers are flourishing and the fragrance spreads for miles. Unfortunately, due to its age and the end of its glory, it finally ended perfectly this year. In the inner dragon pond, the sculpture of the White Dragon Goddess is lifelike, the Tai Chi Yin-Yang ball rotates magically, the water in the pond is clear and the bottom is visible, fish and shrimps are playing, the mountains are colorful from afar, and the water is silent when you listen closely. People stroll in the temple and feel like they are returning to nature. From the first to the third day of August every year, it is said that the dragon son must return to Hengshan Bailong Temple to visit his mother. Therefore, the area within dozens of miles is very lively. Operas are performed in the temple for three days to celebrate, which is now the temple fair of Hengshan Bridge. The four newly built four-way (east, south, west, and north) gods of wealth (each 12.8 meters high) are solemn and sacred.
