Small, a lot of fun, if you are in Chichibu area
This is one of the smaller silk museums I've seen in Japan, and it is very specific to a certain kind of silk called meisen. It seems almost like a mom-and-pop operation. You don't have to pay just to...
Kids could try making pattern by dyeing the handkerchief or T-shirt. We didn't have a lot of time so we tried only the Handkerchief. The staff doesn't speak English but could demonstrate well without ...
I arrived down a steep slope from Yozan Park for a night trip with my wife. Since I visited without prior knowledge, I thought that the main exhibition of Meisen's textiles and kimono was, but why and why were my expectations betrayed in a good way. A detailed explanation of the process of Chichibu Meisen, which is to spin thread from the yarn, twist the thread, line up 1600 vertical threads, stamp the color pattern, and weave it with a loom, and the actual equipment and tools used are lined up in a row. A technical person like me is just Wakuwa ...
I visited the museum when sightseeing in Chichibu. I'm glad I went there because it was an opportunity to learn about Chichibu Meisen, a traditional craft of Chichibu (^^) Although it is a capacity system, there is also an experience course for weaving and dyeing. If you participate in not only the material tour but also the experience, I think the fun will double. The reference room has an exhibition of the history of Chichibu Meisen and the manufacturing process. It's on display in an easy-to-understand manner, so What is Chichibu inscription? I understand it well by myself, and study ...
The Chichibu Branch of the Saitama Textile Industry Experiment Station has been changed to a facility where hands-on activities can be performed. There is also a textile museum, but it is good to experience it carefully. It takes less than 2 hours, so if you make a reservation, you can make memories. The location is a little confusing, but there is a guide on the main street, so I think you can reach it if you follow the guide. I was just exhibiting Halloween. If you take the time to go, I feel that you can understand a little about the old days of Chichibu.

There are plenty of experience courses.
