Xionggu Zhixuan の Bronze Statue
Original Text
I was surprised to see a statue of Naomi Kumagai in the middle of the rotary because I had to enter the station. Is the name of the city also named Naomi Kumagai? It is famous for the battle of Ichinodani in Settsu.
It is located near the taxi stand just in front of the north exit of JR Kumagai Station. A busho (Japanese military commander) from the late Heian period to the early Kamakura period based in Kumagai-go, Musashi province.
The statue of Naomi Kumagai was at the rotary of JR Kumagai Station. I found it when I went to Kumagai in November. Naomi Kumagai is a military commander who was active in Kumagai-go (currently Kumagai City) from the end of the Heian period to the early Kamakura period. He is a person who appears in the Heike Monogatari. There is also Kumagai-dera Temple in Kumagai City, which is related to Naomi (usually not available).
Kumagai in Kumagai City has something to do with that Naomi Kumagai. I don't know which name is named after Naomi Kumagai or which one Naomi took the surname from the place name. Either way, it is a very refined equestrian statue. Is it the scene of the Heike Monogatari that stops Taira Atsumori with a fan?
A statue standing in front of Kumagai Station. At first glance, I assimilated it into the surrounding buildings and didn't notice it when I visited in the past. A military commander from the end of the Heian period to the Kamakura period. Is this the origin of Kumagai's name? I thought, but it seems that the correct answer is to call the place name.
