Zuisen Gate

Impressive!

The Zuisen Gate looked really impressive when we entered. It was one of the best photo options in the lower part of the casle. A must to see!

There was a spring water on the right side of the gate, so it was named "Zuisenmon."

When I passed through the Kankaimon gate built on the outside wall of Shuri Castle, the atmosphere inside the castle strengthened at once. What I could see at the end of the stone steps was the Zuisenmon. The Kaikaimon is an arched stone gate made integral with the ramparts, but this Zuiquanmon is in the shape of a yagura directly above the Shuangbi gate. "Zuisen" means "great, happy spring", but it seems that it was named because there is a spring called "Ryuhi" on the right side in front of the gate.

守礼門に続き、瑞泉門も、健在でした。 門までの階段の右手に、瑞泉の湧き水があります。 これを見るたびに、泡盛の瑞泉を思いうかべます。 瑞泉酒造は、首里城の向こう側にあります。

双璧の石門の上に櫓があります！

歓会門の上にこの瑞泉門があります。説明によりますと、この門の別名は『ひかわ御門』というそうです。“ひ”とは樋の事を言い、“かわ”とは沖縄では井戸や泉を指します。この門の創建は１４７０年頃ですが、沖縄戦ですべて焼失してしまい、平成４年１９９２年に復元されました。しかし今回の火災では焼失を免れた事が何よりですね。

改修工事中

歓会門の次にある門ですが、私たちが行った時には工事中でした。なので、写真は撮らずに素通りしました。もう一回行かなければ（笑）。
