Protestant Church of Paofai

Temple de Paofai is situated opposite the Paofai Gardens, not far from the port and just off the main road. Built in 1818, it is a Protestant church in Papeete and a well-preserved Protestant church in Tahiti. It is the main Protestant name of the island. Sometimes people use the French name "Eglise Evangelique" to call it. The exterior of the church is peach-pink walls with a light green roof, inlaid with white wood as decoration, and there is a bell tower on one side of the church. The interior of the church is supported by two huge rows of handmade and painted columns. Don't miss out on the melodious singing of Sunday services, where there is a chance to see local ladies dressed in white and beautifully decorated straw hats in the crowd.
