The waterwheel is more interesting
It seems so many railway stations have statues out the front and some are Samurai on horseback. This one has not the detail and finesse of others I have seen.
Not only this statue, but when you get off Ueda Station, you can see the family crests and characters of Sanada Yukimura and the Sanada clan everywhere. I don't know the Sanada family in detail, but the way of revitalizing the town as a historical person is similar to my hometown Yonezawa. The same is true for basins and castle towns (including castles that do not exist).
There is an equestrian statue of Yukimura Sanada in the station square at the castle exit of Ueda Station. It is a statue where you can feel the courage of holding a sword. After all, Ueda is the place where Mr. Sanada's residence was, so such a statue makes you feel like you are in Ueda.
2 This is the first word of mouth. Last time I used the Shinkansen from Tokyo, this time I arrived in front of Ueda Station by bus from Matsumoto. Ueda has a strong Sanada color with Matsushiro, but last time it was 〇2, but this sightseeing has been done enough preliminary research, so it is exciting, and I will leave it as 〇3.
It is a bronze statue of Yukimura Sanada on the roundabout in front of Ueda Station. It is modeled after the image of the general public wearing a helmet of a deer horn and shaking a horse. It seems to be an image of adolescence, and it is a statue of a young 々 atmosphere. There aren't many descriptions of Yukimura's activities in his youth, and I don't know if he was in charge since he was young, but I think this is good as a local hero.
