Breakfast was decent but a bit repetitive, so it would’ve been nice to have some different options on different days. The location was great and really convenient, but cleanliness could definitely be improved — the bathroom and cups weren’t properly cleaned. There’s no on-site hotel parking, and the alternatives were quite expensive. The most cost-effective option was Victoria Street parking, about a 5-minute walk away. The hotel charged $59 per night for Wilson Parking, but it came with limitations, which made things quite difficult. On the plus side, complimentary dental kits were provided, which was a nice touch.
We were really looking forward to our stay at this hotel, which is new, has a very central location, is very clean, and has a very-well equipped gym. These features were greatly appreciated.
Unfortunately, we encountered a few issues that affected our experience. Despite booking for three guests, our room was only prepared for two, and even after requesting additional amenities, they were not fully provided. The in-room phone was also not working, making it difficult to communicate with the front desk.
Housekeeping seemed inconsistent—our room was not thoroughly cleaned after the first night, with some items left out of place and the trash not emptied.
Additionally, when ordering a breakfast box for an early checkout, we were surprised by the lack of flexibility in food choices, as we could only remove items rather than substitute them. A bit more understanding from the staff in handling such requests would have been appreciated.
Lastly, we noticed that some of the buffet food tasted stale, and one of our family members felt unwell afterward. We’re not sure if this was an isolated incident, but it was a bit concerning.
I stayed at the Holiday inn, and it was a really good experience. It’s close to the airport, which made traveling easy. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. They also have an airport shuttle, which was very handy.
Breakfast was great, with lots of choices, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. I asked for non-feather pillows, and they put in a lot of effort to accommodate me, which I really appreciated.
The pool and garden area are lovely—perfect for relaxing. It’s also quiet, so it’s a great spot for families or anyone who wants some peace and quiet.
Overall, it’s a nice, convenient, and comfortable place to stay. I’d definitely come back!
Amazing stay. Loved the location- next to Queen’s steer and close to all the major attractions. Staff were really nice and assured us with charging our mobile as I had forgotten my charger.
Loved this hotel! If you’re ever in Auckland and you’re not sure where to stay, I really recommend this hotel!
Clean bathroom, clean room, has all the basic amenities and walking distance to eateries as well as the harbour + sky tower :)
Great service and staff were all really friendly! I appreciate the hospitality and thank you for reserving the car parking for my family and I :)
Sky tower locates in the CBD, where you get access to any tourism sites. No need to take bus or train to shopping area. The car parking service is great which saves us a lot of budget.
Check in took a bit longer than a 5 stars hotel should be. I arrived at 1pm after an overnight flight and need a rest. Room wasn’t ready so okay I can wait. Until 3pm it was still not ready… only get into the room around 4pm at last. First impression ruined.
It's an ordinary hotel 20 minutes walk from the airport. The price is testy, it is not worth its money. Only chose it because of the overnight layover in Auckland. Really pissed off that there is no comforter cover - the comforter is between two sheets. So if you want to lie on your side, the bottom sheet can shift and then you will touch the body of the dirty blanket. The hotel for this price should buy a duvet cover with zipper or buttons because using sheets is horrible! It was not comfortable for me as a customer.
Front Desk staff member was absolutely the best person for the hotel, she is welcoming helpful and friendly, as a guest I felt very comfortable and grateful for her presence, thank you so much for hospitality, I really enjoyed my stay, it greatly appreciated
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here, the staff made everything a breeze for me. What I appreciated most was the check-in agent offering me a room upgrade with late checkout! This was generous and a welcome surprise. Stayed in a deluxe room on 26th floor with a lovely view of the Sky Tower and harbour. Bar on rooftop is great. My best hotel experience in New Zealand so far. Hotel is missing a pool, and no bathtub in my room. However, it’s great value overall. Thank you team!

RRobertThe outside of the hotel looks a bit crappy but the room is neat and clean.
The location is amazing because it is really super close to the airport and they offer shuttle service.
Service was good but there was no reception and had to go to the motel next door, but the staff there was very helpful.
GGillian Laiwe stayed there for a night before going back to Hong Kong. The hotel was really close to the airport. The room was clean and spacious. Highly recommended for travelers who need to have a short stay near the airport
GGuest UserI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Gateway Airport Hotel in Mangere, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel's proximity to the airport made it an ideal choice for my travels, but it was the outstanding service, impressive facilities, and delicious food that truly made my stay memorable.
The service at the Gateway Airport Hotel was top-notch. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. From the warm greeting at check-in to the helpful assistance with my luggage, every interaction I had with the staff was pleasant and professional.
The hotel's facilities were modern, clean, and well-maintained. My room was spacious and comfortable, with a plush bed, a large flat-screen TV, and a convenient workspace. The bathroom was clean and well-appointed, with a great shower and plenty of towels. I also appreciated the hotel's fitness center and business center, which were both well-equipped and easily accessible.
One of the highlights of my stay was the food. The hotel's restaurant served a delicious breakfast buffet, with a wide range of options to suit all tastes. I also enjoyed dinner at the restaurant, which offered a great selection of local and international dishes. The food was tasty, well-presented, and reasonably priced.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with the Gateway Airport Hotel in Mangere. The combination of excellent service, modern facilities, and delicious food made for a truly enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient, comfortable, and memorable place to stay in Auckland.

GGuest UserHave stayed here before and find it the best value for a place to stay overnight close to the airport with a free shuttle. Reception staff pleasant on arrival and departure. Didn't use the restaurant for dinner or breakfast but looks nice. Would stay here again if the price remains lower than other options.
TTaylor Alicia JosephineBeing in town for an overnight staycation with attending to Auckland Cabaret Festival event, I thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality of Marsden Viaduct Hotel. My room was beautiful with a wonderful balcony view and bubble bath to pamper in as highlights. Within close walking distance to bars, restaurants and a captivating vista of the viaduct, it’s a wonderful way to feel elsewhere on holiday whilst being in the heart of the city. I’ll definitely stay here again and highly recommend.
GGuest UserThe hotel is located in the middle of three main roads. It is very noisy at night. There are still people drinking and making noise downstairs at 3 am. I couldn't sleep well all night. The rooms are all floor-to-ceiling windows, without ventilation, and very stuffy.

GGuest UserGreat location. The bed and sheets were wonderful but the rest of the unit was very very tired. The shower head would not stay in its cradle. The fridge had a horrible smell. I asked for a wake up call but the phone in the room was not working.
