London
Exhibitions
This summer, visitors to the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace will see a special exhibition, The King’s Tour Artists, featuring over 70 works of art from His Majesty’s own collection, many on public display for the first time. In the spring of 1985, the then Prince of Wales invited, at his own expense, John Ward to join a royal visit to Italy as the official tour artist, with the brief to draw or paint whatever inspired him. For the past 40 years, official tour artists have been personally selected by The King to accompany him on royal overseas tours with the brief remaining largely unchanged throughout. Forty-two artists to have undertaken this role, who collectively have visited 95 countries during 69 tours, will be represented in the exhibition. The works on display in the Palace’s Ballroom, chosen from a selection made by The King, will provide glimpses of life on a royal tour, capturing the tone, colours and atmosphere in ways that differ from a photographic record.

London

Literary Arts
‘It is vanishingly rare for a writer to both confront the ugliness of humanity and still search for its beauty. Roy is that rare writer.’ - Naomi Klein Arundhati Roy is one of today’s most esteemed public intellectuals. The author of novels including the Booker Prize-winning The God of Small Things, Roy is equally respected as a political essayist. Her words on topics from the COVID-19 pandemic to the plight of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi have helped define public discourse in India and beyond. Now, on September 4, Roy comes to the Intelligence Squared stage for an exclusive event. Combining the signature scale, sweep and depth of her novels, and the passion, political clarity and warmth of her essays, Roy will draw on the themes of her new memoir for a compelling exploration of her life and work. Born out of the onrush of memories and feelings provoked by her mother Mary’s death, Mother Mary Comes to Me is Roy's telling of her own story from childhood to the present, from Kerala to Delhi. An ode to freedom, a tribute to thorny love and savage grace, it is a memoir like no other. Join us at Cadogan Hall for a rare opportunity to hear from one of the greatest writers of our generation, and have your questions answered in the Q&A. Gifts The River Returned | Iain Sinclair | Southwark Cathedral

Literary Arts
One of them left the address of the find, gifted by the river, as a neat conclusion. Or provocation for a further chapter. —Iain Sinclair Gifts Returned by the River (Swedenborg House Press, 2025) marks the latest collaboration between the acclaimed writer Iain Sinclair and Swedenborg House, and a new phase of extrapolation from the materials shored up by Albion Island Vortex, an exhibition staged fifty-two years ago at the Whitechapel Gallery. Akin to recuperating drowned Doves Press type from the Thames, Gifts Returned by the River creates acts of reconstitution and imagination using the case of memory. Collating responses to Iain Sinclair’s exhibition Histories & Hauntings (Swedenborg House Gallery, 2023)—itself a restaging and reworking of Albion Island Vortex—this ambitious publication incorporates multiform contributions from Alice Albinia, Renchi Bicknell, Javier Calvo, Brian Catling, Gareth Evans, Allen Fisher, Jürgen Ghebrezgiabiher, Jarett Kobek, Stephen McNeilly, Michael Moorcock, Louis Petit, Victor Rees, Anya Reeve, John Rogers, Adolfo Barberá del Rosal, Matthew Shaw, Iain Sinclair, Ben Wickey and Carol Williams. A limited first edition of 200 is presented in a tracing paper wrap, with two “gifts” enclosed inside. There is also the option to purchase a special edition of 26, signed and with extra material. A forthcoming standard edition is to be announced. Iain Sinclair is considered one of London’s greatest chroniclers. Iain’s early work consisted mostly of poetry which he published on his own small press, Albion Village Press. His novels include Downriver (winner of the James Tait Black Prize and the Encore Prize) and Dining on Stones (shortlisted for the Ondaatje Prize). Non-fiction books, exploring the myth and matter of London, include Lights Out for the Territory, London Orbital and Ghost Milk: Calling Time on the Grand Project. For the Swedenborg Society he has written Blake’s London: The Topographic Sublime (2011); with Brian Catling, Several Clouds Colliding (2012); and Swimming to Heaven: The Lost Rivers of London (2013). He was also a contributor to Swedenborg’s Lusthus (2024). He has curated two exhibitions at Swedenborg House, Histories & Hauntings (2023) and Pariah Genius: John Deakin, The Psychobiography of a Photographer (2024). Radical Harmony: Helene Kröller-Müller's Neo-Impressionists | The National Gallery

Sep 13, 2025–Feb 8, 2026 (UTC)
London
Exhibitions
When critics first saw Georges Seurat’s new style of painting, they thought it might bring about the death of painting itself. But what was it about artists like Paul Signac, Anna Boch, Jan Toorop and Henri-Edmond Cross, that ruffled so many feathers? Neo-Impressionists painted in small dots of pure colour. Viewed from a distance, the colours blend to create nuanced tones and an illusion of light. Now known as pointillism, this technique simplified form and played with colour in an entirely new way, verging on the edge of abstraction. Alongside this exciting approach to colour, their style went hand-in-hand with radical political ideas. They captured late 19th-century European society through luminous landscapes, portraits and interior scenes, while also depicting the struggles faced by the working class, in reaction against the industrial age. Most of the paintings we’re exhibiting were collected by Helene Kröller-Müller, one of the first great women art patrons of the 20th century. She assembled the most comprehensive ensemble of Neo-Impressionist paintings in the world. Collected with the aim of being publicly accessible, these works now form part of the Kröller-Müller Museum in the Netherlands, which Helene Kröller-Muller founded. See these radical visions of pure colour for yourself in Radical Harmony: Helene Kröller-Müller’s Neo-Impressionists. This exhibition is a collaboration between the National Gallery and the Kröller-Müller Museum, Otterlo

Global spending on mobile apps hit $171 billion in 2023, up 3% year-over-year. Despite this, consumer apps are facing increasing barriers to scale. What’s stopping apps from scaling efficiently and sustainably? The landscape is shifting: marketers are face rising acquisition costs, stricter privacy rules, the disruption of AI-driven discovery, and growing pressure to diversify revenue. The solution? Diversified user acquisition (UA) and monetization are fast becoming must haves, rather than nice to haves. Reaping the rewards of such strategies are already paying dividends, but many consumer apps are only just beginning to unlock their full potential. Join us in London at our inaugural Appsfourm conference, where app publishers, marketers, and industry leaders will gather to discuss the latest in UA, monetization, and growth strategies. Appsforum will take place alongside Gamesforum London , enabling attendees to apply successful UA and monetization strategies across their apps. Conference Passes are for mobile app publishers and developers only - tickets are NOT valid if you are a service or solution provider. Passes purchased incorrectly WILL be subject to cancellation and refunded. In matters relating to this, the decision of the event organisers is final. Picasso: The Three Dancers | Tate Modern

Sep 17, 2025–Apr 13, 2026 (UTC)
London
Exhibitions
Agony and ecstasy go hand-in-hand in Pablo Picasso’s exuberant masterpiece The Three Dancers. A milestone in modern art from 1925, this painting now forms the centrepiece of an exhibition celebrating the work’s centenary. For Picasso, The Three Dancers marked a radical break away from his serene, classical phase and the beginning of a new period of emotional violence and expressionist distortion. It sits at a crossroads between madness, philosophy and the avant-garde: a place where identity is disrupted and the body itself is at stake. Tate Modern’s exhibition tells the story of this landmark painting through a selection of key works from across Picasso’s career, exploring themes of sex, death, and the politics of dance. A vibrant programme of live performances accompanies the exhibition, taking inspiration from one of the most influential artists of the 20th century and bringing The Three Dancers to life 100 years after its creation.
