Lee Ouimette
Lee Ouimette is a member of Adele’s Bear Band, Robinson Huron Treaty of 1850. Lee learned the art of beading as a child from a healer in the Grand River community. Lee loves to teach the art of leatherwork and beadwork because it is a form of Medicine to her, allowing her to continue to pass on her knowledge and ensure the next generation has the chance to access traditional ways of knowing and being.
Lee holds a B.A. in paralegal studies. Lee published an article through Humber College in 2019 titled “Education and Indigenous Access to Justice." Lee’s Indigenous Boutique began operations in 2020 after the Pandemic shut down the Pow Wow Trail, leaving the family business and launching an exclusive beadwork & medicine website. TSA Tour | King Spadina | 401 Richmond St W (west entrance)
Aug 9, 2025 (UTC-4)
Toronto
For much of the first half of the 20th century, the area around King Spadina echoed with the hum of industry. Garments, lithography, watches and biscuits—just to name a few—were all manufactured in the many brick and beam buildings that define the neighbourhood. But in the 1960s and 70s, the decline of industry had left many of the former factories and warehouses vacant and underutilized. As time passed, the risk of demolition increased as obsolescence and neglect took their toll.
Something needed to change if we were to preserve this historic neighbourhood.
Join us on a walk as we explore how the loosening of planning rules—as well as the vision and grit of some early adopters—set a new course for this neighbourhood’s future: now one of the fastest growing and most fashionable mixed-use areas in the city. We’ll see examples of how former industrial buildings have been transformed into new uses, as well as contemporary buildings that take design queues from the existing fabric around them. Along the way, we’ll discuss the challenges and opportunities of repurposing existing structures and the role new buildings can play in preserving our past. Included in this tour are important community landmarks like 401 Richmond, as well as some of the city’s newest additions like the Ace Hotel and the Waterworks Building.
Logistics
All TSA Walking Tours require prior registration. You can register online anytime prior to the start of the tour. Walk-ins will be accommodated pending tour capacity and exact change is required ($15, HST included). Please note the TSA Membership discount is only available for tickets purchased online.
This tour is 1.5-2 hours long and includes a mix of interior and exterior stops. Your tour guide will be equipped with a microphone and speaker system to ensure you’re able to hear the tour clearly and we’ll find places to sit in the shade whenever possible.
Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the tour begins for your tour guide to check you in. We encourage you to go paperless—we can use either your digital ticket or your name for check-in.
Our tours take place rain or shine, so please double check the weather on the day of your tour and dress appropriately. Should inclement weather require tour cancellation, we will reach out in advance of the tour to the email/phone number you shared when registering.
Accessibility
We strive to host inclusive, accessible tours that enable all attendees to fully engage with the experience. Our walking tours take place on mostly flat terrain, such as city sidewalks and paths. To notify us of any accommodations you may need, or for inquiries about accessibility, please contact us at tsa@torontosocietyofarchitects.ca.
Thank You!

San Diego
Welcome to Tree Treks by Tree San Diego!
AUGUST WALK: Kate Sessions Park , San Diego
Tree Treks is a community engagement and building program designed to connect San Diego residents with their local parks and trails while fostering a shared interest in trees and native plants. The program's primary objective is to cultivate a sense of community by encouraging neighbors to bond over learning about the diverse flora within their local parks. As participants embark on the monthly Tree Trek, they will have the opportunity to engage in an arborist-led conversation that will focus on the identification and characteristics of trees, their benefits, and the history of the parks where they grow.
The selected Tree Trek parks are located throughout San Diego County, ensuring accessibility for a broad audience. Utilizing publicly-available TreePlotter mapping software, this platform will inventory walk routes and provide tree eco-benefits information “live” at any time.

San Diego
Sophisticated Simplicity
Our events offer a fresh alternative to speed dating and matchmaking. We don't find anything romantic about whistles, name-tags or over-the-top party trimmings typically found at singles events so we have done away with them. Creating an atmosphere that is at once casual and comfortable. It's what we call cheeky-chic!
Meet a partner to attend concerts, music festivals, bar crawls or fitness classes. Someone who shares your passions and interests - from sports to yoga - all in a setting just your speed.
-
Upon registration, you'll be sent an email inviting you to login to your mobile MyCheekyDate ‘Smart-Card’. As the event begins, login to your scorecard and let the flirting begin. You'll be able to choose whom you fancy meeting again, to what degree you like them and have until midnight to submit your final selections for matching. Once the clock strikes midnight - return to our platform to see your matches. It's where Cheeky meets convenience! You can also access your profile via mobile, tablet or PC. Our platform isn't an app so it requires absolutely no downloading and can be accessed directly from our website, anytime. Paper scorecards are just so 2010!
The night has arrived! Go to the venue at the published start time for the event. There is no official start time to the speed dating portion of the evening - we like to wait for all daters to arrive, to have a moment to settle in with a refreshment and mingle should they wish.
Our personable hosts will assist you with your MyCheekyDate 'Smart-Card’ Scorecard. Flirty and fun, your mobile scorecard is just the beginning. Chat up our Hosts for tips or simply to ask, which direction the bar is in! After being shown to your table, the ladies will remain seated for the duration of the event. The gents move from lovely lady to lovely lady every six to seven minutes. Your mobile scorecard gives you the ability to see all the participants attending your event, upload your picture, make your selections and be notified of your matches all from your phone.
Offering uncompromising value with unparalleled service. Lovely venues and our lovely Hosts to assist you with anything or anyone.
