Hot Springs Hotels in Hunan, China

It was my first time to come to Tongcheng Hot Springs and I felt very comfortable staying here. I have been to so many hot spring hotels and still think this one is really great. The best thing here is that the service level is really considerate and comparable to that of peers. This time, my friend was not feeling well, and Xiao Wen at the front desk helped prepare brown sugar ginger water and delivered it directly to our room. I was very hungry after taking a hot spring bath at night, so the takeaway I ordered was delivered to my room. We were helped with our luggage during check-in and check-out, and we were asked if we needed a late check-out. The whole stay experience was really good. The hotel breakfast is also good, with a wide variety, especially the rice noodles are delicious. Although the room is decorated in a retro style, the bed is big and very comfortable. The hotel is very close to the hot spring, on the first floor of the building where we live, so it's no problem even if the weather is cold. We will definitely stay here next time we visit!

I'm still on my way home, but I had to write this review right away. This hotel was such a pleasant surprise on our trip! It deserves a five-star rating for its ambiance, facilities, service, and value for money. Firstly, the surroundings are quiet and beautiful, with the Wangcun Wooden Archway and the Geological Park Museum right across the street. The rooms are quite spacious, with corner floor-to-ceiling windows and even a tea set on a large wooden table. Of course, the hotel isn't directly inside the scenic area, but that also means you avoid the noisy crowds, the sound of rushing water, and having to drag your luggage over cobblestone paths. The hotel provides a shuttle service to and from the scenic area. This brings me to the excellent service: we followed the itinerary and schedule recommended by the staff, and after watching the last show, even before we contacted them, we received a message asking where we were so they could pick us up. Such proactive service deserves a big thumbs up! Finally, the private photo spots recommended by the hotel allowed us to avoid the crowds and enjoy the stunning waterfall scenery.

The hotel is right in the city center, which makes getting around super convenient. It's close to all the main attractions, and there's a subway station just a few hundred meters away. The room was really clean and spacious, perfect for a family trip. The concierge was also very responsive and quick to help with any issues we had during our stay. The hotel facilities are quite comprehensive, and the hygiene is well maintained. The shower head in the bathroom has good water pressure. The environment is just average. Construction work at the hotel hasn't finished, and the hotel is a bit far from Tuojiang River. There's nowhere to go right outside the hotel, although there's a small path leading to the riverbank, but it's narrow and steep, so you have to be extra careful. The service was attentive and responsive to all requests; they even brought me a buckwheat pillow. Although the room had heating, it was controlled by a central system, so I couldn't adjust the temperature, and it felt a bit chilly. The housekeeping department kindly provided an electric heater, which I really appreciated. The breakfast experience was great. The service quality didn't drop despite fewer guests during the off-season. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the variety of dishes was quite good, fully meeting our needs. I'm grateful that the hotel offers a shuttle service to the high-speed rail station, saving guests the hassle of figuring out how to get a taxi (there are no ride-sharing services in Fenghuang Ancient Town).

We had an absolutely excellent stay. The service across all departments—from the Front Desk and Room Service to the Di Ming restaurant and the hot springs—was outstanding. Every hotel member we interacted with was incredibly courteous, friendly, and helpful. We especially appreciated how immaculately clean the entire environment was kept. I want to offer a special commendation to the Front Desk and Restaurant Managers/Headers. Their commitment to personalized service and leading by example was truly noteworthy. They were warm, genuinely helpful, and created very memorable moments during our visit. Thank you. p.s. A note for future travelers: While the hotel itself is excellent, please be aware that transportation in the surrounding area is very challenging without a personal car. It is extremely difficult to secure ride-sharing services (like Didi), and hiring local drivers is quite costly. They often charge a round-trip fee for a single journey. For example, a trip less than 1 mile from the hotel to the West Gate cost us ¥50 for drop-off and pickup. A longer trip to the East Gate was at ¥250.

Taking my child to Fenghuang Ancient City was made even more amazing by this smart hotel – I was pleasantly surprised! 🧚 It was our first time visiting Fenghuang with the little one, and we stumbled upon a real gem of a hotel! It's just a few minutes' drive from the ancient city, making the location super convenient. My child went wild playing with the voice-activated switches as soon as we walked in. 2️⃣ The separate laundry room was so practical! The hotel room was spacious and comfortable, with an excellent bed, we slept really well. The large window also brought in plenty of natural light. The location is excellent, and the staff were very attentive. They even called us in advance to confirm our arrival time and ask if we needed any assistance. Since the hotel is in a pedestrian area, they kindly carried our bags from the car and even took us to the train station. The host gave us tips on what to do in the city and even accompanied us. The hotel also has a private viewpoint overlooking the waterfall. He recommended some restaurants and bars as well, and the one we tried was good.

The hotel is very comfortable and has a great environment. It's located right within the scenic area, making it convenient to visit Dehang Miao Village and the Grand Canyon. The scenery feels hidden away in the mountains, very pristine and beautiful. The hotel receptionists are very attentive and helpful, always ready to assist with sightseeing routes. I even received a complimentary upgrade to a room with a view upon check-in. The afternoon tea and evening sweet soup were delicious, and the hotel is very dog-friendly! 👍😼👍👍 Highly recommend staying here!! 😃😀

Very nice place, quiet and comfortable environment. The room was very bright and spacious and the large terrace was very nice. There is a skylight above the bathtub, which is very special. You can see the stars in summer! The service is standard and the staff are warm and courteous. There are not many hot spring pools, the pools are clean and the water temperature is relatively mild. It is not very convenient that there is no dehydrator in the locker room. The breakfast is not bad, not much variety, but quite delicious. The food from the Chinese restaurant tastes pretty good, but a little too oily.

I came to this treasure hotel on the last day of the May Day holiday. It was really full of surprises. The beautiful sisters at the front desk of the hotel provided excellent and thoughtful service! Every time I passed by, I was proactive and greeted with a sweet smile. The breakfast dishes were also very rich!
