Burnley West Higher Trapp Hotel

Stayed over one night whilst working away. Very friendly attentive staff from reception to bar/restaurant staff. Rooms nice enough. Beautiful gardens. Ate in the restaurant which was very busy for a Wednesday night. My meal, sea bass wasn’t the best - would stay here again if in the area but would eat elsewhere.

I don’t know where to start! What a fantastic day we had! I can’t recommend the higher trapp highly enough. We had our wedding day on 16th May and it was everything and more! Perfect venue and surroundings and everything ran so smoothly. Prior to the wedding, there were a few hiccups along the way (ours!) however nothing was too much trouble. Emily was an absolute gem on the day before and the day off. Cool as a cucumber and nothing was too much trouble. Megan is just a delight- I can’t speak highly enough of how kind and approachable yet professional she is. Kerrie was very supportive too, and helped from the beginning to the lead up to the wedding. Millie- what a treasure :) As has been said by many others, it truly is the team that make the higher trapp. We will miss you all….keep being you! Xxx

We had our wedding at this wonderful hotel. It should have been last year, but due to family circumstances we had to postpone. The team couldn’t do enough to help. They were nothing short of amazing and I’m sure as with most weddings there are hiccups, the team never panicked, nothing was ever too much and they solved any issues sometimes without us having to ask Megan is amazing. Such a personable character. She is attentive and was willing to help at every step of the way. She organised the day extremely well. Her personal and caring touch made it feel that she was very much a part of our day. Kerris is another member who helped, reassured and organised our wedding. She was on holiday on the big day, but I’m confident she would have been amazing also. Emily ran our day and announced toasts and looked after my wife and the day throughout. Again, nothing was too much trouble and her helpful and “can do attitude” made the day so much more enjoyable. I can’t rate this gem of a hotel highly enough. So much more for your money than other hotels / venues in the area but the grounds, gardens and super supportive team made it a day to remember! We will definitely return for one of the all inclusive events. Keep up the great work. D&Z

We used the Higher Trapp Hotel for a celebration of our Ruby wedding anniversary. We took three rooms and also had breakfast. the celebratory meal was excellent and the room given for the function was lovely. All in all we were looked after and well fed with staff cheerful, helpful and attentive at all times. Highly recommended.

Excellent staff especially Sheila the front of house staff that kept us all informed about the meals being delayed due to a mishap in the kitchen. She was attentive and caring to all the residents in the Fitzy bar. The whole stay was lovely nothing to much trouble by all the staff .

Second time we have been to this venue and this time a little disappointed. We had a room in the annex unless we paid for an upgrade. Last year we got a nice room in the hotel for £20 cheaper for an inclusive and our experience was much better. Staff and food were excellent but the annex is very basic. Very small TV, small room and needs a big upgrade. Despite the fact I was disabled and told them so on booking I had to manipulate multitude steps and mud if I tried to take a short cut across the lawn to the hotel. Need to put my coat on to go outside to access the hotel. So unfortunately we won't be returning. Pictures following.

We went for the all inclusive option and weren’t disappointed. Such good value! Food was amazing. We had 2 meals there and it was fantastic. Breakfast was also good with lots to choose from.The staff are so friendly and really can’t do enough for you. We will be back!

I stayed here in October in one of the annex double rooms with my dog on their latest 3 night break - 3 nights b&b, dinner, sandwich lunch or packed lunch, afternoon tea, wine tasting, a quiz and yoga, all for £199. No single supplement which makes a nice change. Fantastic value. The service from all the staff was exceptional and they all loved making a fuss of my dog in the lounge as we weren't allowed to eat in the restaurant which is normal for hotels. My dog loved her complimentary sausage at breakfast time !!! The set menu is delicious but fairly limited. You can however upgrade to other dishes at an average upgrade cost of £2 - £3 though some were only £1 extra. There was a wedding on one of the days but, unlike in some of the reviews, this didn't affect the service I got which couldn't be faulted. It was my birthday on one of the days and the staff gave me a free drink from the bar. One of the waitresses wasn't going to be in on the day of my birthday so, the day before, she presented me with some cheesecake on a plate decorated with 'happy birthday' spelt out in raspberry coulis. Very thoughtful of her and totally unexpected. I only have 2 small criticisms of my room which was very pleasant. I would have liked to have had a bath mat as it got a bit slippery having a shower. I could have done with a lamp on the dressing table/desk as it got rather dark in the evenings there. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable 3 night break which was much needed by me and my dog.

Excellent welcome on arrival. Very helpful on my stay. Mille couldn’t help enough with any question I had. Room very good. Food was extremely good. Parking was ample. The grounds are very clean and breathtaking. Tea and coffee and quality biscuits in room
