Vila Petra

My husband and i went to vila Petra for 9 days from October 10th to 19th to celebrate my birthday on 15th. The location was a bit too far from the beaches with no shuttle services and as 2 74 year olds, one with a bad hip problem and one with a heart problem it was too far to walk to Oura beach. However, we got taxis to and from Fisherman's beach which is well worth a visit. My birthday was wonderful. We were out for a meal at Jardem Rustico restaurant, just along the facing road and then turn right. It was very good steaks but a tad expensive compared to other places. We went to Sentido 5 a lot and I can highly recommend it. Turn left at the end of the road. Say hello to Janinina from Joyce and Steve. We really enjoyed her service and long discussions. The food and the chef is superb. We had an apartment, room only. It was spacious and the kitchen was clean and had everything you need to cook, though we just had breakfasts and lunch. Weather was hot for the full 9 days so enjoyed snacks, breakfast on the balcony. So glad we chose room only because apparently, according to some guests we spoke to the food was not good, tough meats and cold food! The entertainment was good but if you don't like Karaoke, then avoid this. The team were enthusiastic and some good singers, especially Maria. I sang on my birthday but not that good. Its a laugh anyway. Liked the quizzes and musical bingo. The other bingo was boring. So average entertainment but good fun. The bar staff were good and Attentive though a tad expensive. Must mention David the barman who looked after us all the time and he's a fantastic barman, polite, helpful and good sense of humour. I think it was him who organised for me a large piece of delicious chocolate cake plus candle for my birthday. Everyone sang happy birthday to me which I loved. Very surprised . We enjoyed the indoor pool which was warm but I was shocked that you have to pay extra for the sauna, steam rooms. It gets a bit noisy with kids running up and down, and the shouting of lots of stag do men sometimes. I could hear next door arguing, using the toilet etc... Overall because of the wonderful friendly, helpful staff, the spacious apartments and the closeness to shops, bars and restaurants, cafes we would return . Much more to see.. Everywhere was clean, and our room cleaned every day, towels changed, and I had a bathtub too.. The pool table needs looking at though. Beautiful gardens, I forgot to mention with benches all around, a little cafe and loads of sunbeds, no need to fight for those.

I am so pleased I didn’t change the hotel after reading some reviews in July. What a lovely hotel I went with my husband and daughter we stayed in a One Bedroom Pool View Apartment which was in the main hotel, the apartment was spotless it was cleaned every day and the view was lovely we could even see the sea. There were no sunbed wars which was a bonus. My daughter did go down at 9.00 when the pool opened just to get sunbeds by the shallow end of the pool as my husband needed one at the end so easy to get on and off also could get in pool (he walked with a stick so not agile) The two nights we did eat at the restaurant was BBQ night with The Pirate show and Steak night with Cabaret show both shows were absolutely great we thoroughly enjoyed them. We did eat at the snack bar and again food was very nice. The reception staff were great also everyone was so friendly will definitely go back.

This is our 4th visit and we came with best friends. As always an excellent experience. Bellux entertainment excellent. Nadi Java and Milena thank you for making our stay even better. Hope to see you all again.

Lovely, spotlessly clean hotel. You can see the pride they take in their appearance. Cleaners, maintenance and gardeners were on site daily. We had a 2 bedroom apartment and it was very spacious. Lots of activities around the hotel and its brilliant that there is an indoor pool as the weather was a bit too cold for outdoor one. Entertainment and activities put on each day, walks to beach, bowls, quizzes, karaoke. There's a laundrette and a mini mart on site too which is very handy. Location of the hotel is very handy not a far walk to a lit of shops, pharmacies, pubs and theres a beach about 20min walk away. Albuferia is quite steep in some places but theres plenty of taxis about if needed and we found uber was cheapest way to book.

9 nights at Vila Petra as a couple. Booked B&B. Accommodation very good and clean. Lovely pool area with good chilled music. Lots of sun beds available - this could be down to the time of year? Breakfast ok - lots on offer but hot food was always luke warm whether you arrived first thing or towards the end. Staff very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the location lets the hotel down. If you want to go out there is no where nice to walk. Found the area very dirty. Beach is a good 20 min walk which is fine but it’s not a nice pleasant walk. So Vila Petra I would return if we could pick you up and drop you in a nice resort. So 4 star for Vila Petra but 1 star for location
