Kenran Resort Ubud is a hidden gem in the heart of Bali that completely exceeded my expectations. Tucked away in the lush jungle, the resort offers the perfect balance of tranquility, luxury, and nature — a real escape from the busy world. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The staff were not only professional but genuinely kind and attentive throughout my stay. Every detail was carefully taken care of. The room was stunning — spacious, clean, and tastefully designed with traditional Balinese touches. My favorite part was the private balcony with a view of the jungle and river — it was pure serenity waking up to the sounds of nature. The infinity pool is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by greenery, making it a perfect spot to unwind and soak up the peaceful vibes. The on-site spa was another highlight; I had one of the most relaxing massages I’ve ever experienced, with the sound of the river in the background adding to the calm atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious every morning, with plenty of fresh options and great coffee. The restaurant also served amazing local and Western dishes throughout the day, all beautifully presented. Overall, Kenran Resort is a dream. Whether you’re visiting Bali for the first time or returning for a quiet getaway, this resort offers a unique and unforgettable experience. I’ll definitely be coming back.

The swimming pool was very nice, providing a refreshing escape. The view of the forest was amazing, adding a beautiful natural backdrop to our stay. However, I did notice that the hotel is a bit old, which could use some updates. As for the food, it was just average—nothing particularly memorable. Overall, while there are some areas for improvement, the beautiful pool and stunning views made for an enjoyable experience.

Instagramable place to stay but mosquitos and insects are inevitable. Best staff and best service.

The hotel may have once been very nice, but as of March 2025, it's clearly in decline. The property is poorly maintained — the lower floors are in complete disrepair, with broken infrastructure and visible neglect. Only the upper levels, where some of the standard rooms, villas, the restaurant, and pools are located, are in somewhat decent condition. Even there, you’ll notice weeds growing out of the walls in places. Overall, the hotel gives off the impression of being abandoned and run-down. During our stay in March 2025, we saw only two or three other young couples in the entire resort. On one hand, that might sound appealing — peace and quiet — but the deserted feel of the lower levels made the atmosphere rather unsettling.

We spent a few lovely nights in this hotel. We loved their facilities. The room was very spacious, clean and the hotel is situated in a very peaceful place however very remote. Very relaxing retreat, their spa is also amazing and we liked the food especially the breakfast.

One of the best hotels in Ubud I've been to so far. The surrounding nature is beautiful. My view from the room was towards the jungle and everything was green and peaceful. The rooms are huge and clean. All employees are very friendly. And the pools are beautiful and clean. The breakfast was nice as well. The location suited me because you can rent a scooter from them and go on a tour wherever you want. The hotel is quiet and if you don't want to go anywhere, you can stay and enjoy everything there. It's more of a place to rest, and this time it suited me.

The room itself was spacious, beautifully designed, and well-maintained, offering a perfect blend of comfort and luxury. But the highlight was undoubtedly the breathtaking view—waking up to the lush greenery and serene surroundings was an unforgettable experience. Every staff member we encountered, from housekeeping to the concierge, went above and beyond to make our stay special. Their attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction truly set The Kenran apart. If you’re looking for a tranquil and luxurious escape in Ubud, I highly recommend The Kenran. I can’t wait to return!

We decided to stay at Kenran for 1 night after reading a mix of negative and positive reviews about this hotel. Our rooms are very spacious and nice with a lovely jungle view. Our a la carte breakfast was good. The staff are very nice and friendly. Surrounding views were amazing and truly authentic to Ubud nature. For our stay purpose and the price we paid, it's value for money. The hotel should have been rated a 5-star review for our stay if the following did not happen. First, in one of our parents' rooms, one body pillow was very smelly, which indicates it has not been washed or changed from previous guests. This unhygiene is unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. Second, on check-out date, we must walk up the 45 degree hill from our room to reception due to all 3 buggy cars running out of battery at 10am !?. Luckily, our old parents were able to use the last battery juice to get to the reception, while half of us weren't. This situation was truly embarrassing for such a hotel to let their guests, especially if they were children and the elderly to walk in an unsafe, wet, slippery, and high slope driveway. Staff was apologetic for the incident, but the situation could have been avoided if they had made sure all buggy cars were fully charged during the night before. We would like to stay at this place if the situations above were addressed properly.

Resort is at a good location at a distance from the city so it’s quiet and peaceful. But the ants and insects are everywhere. So not very pleasant. They should really do something about repelling insects. At least in the rooms. Resort is very stingy when it comes to asking for extra bottles or water or glasses etc. Indian Kitchen is good but the other one not so much. Breakfast is below average, very limited options and only one serving of main course (small portions). Pools are nice and scenic for photos. Resort is very beautiful for clicking pictures. Overall 2.5/5 for this stay. P.S - Picture is of some leftover food that stayed for at least 2 days in the lobby to our room.

The direction and road leading to the resort can be tasting especially at night. Narrow road and no streetlamp. It's a sanctuary by itself and it's excellent just to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings. Far from any amenities and it's inconvenient to move around. Private chartered car is a must; no Grab no Gojek; unless you take local taxi booked via hotel. Moving from room to lobby and dining areas requires much walking up the slope/stairs (cos the hotel is like perched on hil). You can ask for a buggy service (they have 2) and are subject to waiting time if many requests. Room was splendid and view was canopy. WiFi was strong. Room came with complimentary packs of chips and 3 cans of soft drinks. Toilet has no door and showering could be cold cos of air-conditioning. Breakfast was simple. Buffet spread of basic menu like drinks and pastries. One could order from menu. I find this was good cos less wastage Overall, resort personnel were polite and attentive!
