My friend and I went for Afternoon Tea in May 2024. The choice was excellent - I am Gluten Free and have other dietary problems but the staff were very helpful. The Service was superb. A wonderful experience. I would definitely go again in the future.

Booked an overnight for ourselves, son, daughter and their partners in early May. As always, we just love the experience of The Marcliffe: from enjoying drinks in the cosy drawing room to the fabulous dinner and service in the restaurant. Special shout out to Asia in the drawing room bar and Shannen in the restaurant who guided our gluten & dairy free guests through the menu with ease and confidence. Food & service 10/10. We all looked forward to the breakfast, which we’ve raved about after previous visits, but on this occasion the quality wasn’t up to the usual standard resulting in 5 out of 6 disappointed. After speaking to management we understand the issue and look forward to our next breakfast when we stay in summer.

We held a private birthday party for 27 guests in the Invery Room. The set up of the room, pre-drinks, quality of the food and services were all absolutely outstanding. Sincere thanks to all !

The Marcliffe was just great! The staff couldn’t have been warmer or more gracious. Tony and Holly in particular. The room was comfortable and priced about right. The meals in the restaurant were top notch. Deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. Highly recommend the Marcliffe.

I have been in the travel trade for 14yrs & by far this hotel has disappointed me the most. I booked this hotel as a spa break for myself & husband only to be told when prompted at check in that the Spa was full for the duration of my 2 night stay so we couldn’t use any of the facilities I voiced my annoyance there & then & was told management would make contact with me, was told again on check out management would call me yesterday (Monday) but still not heard anything. To prompt you to book your evening meal incase it becomes full before your stay but not contact you to book spa trea**ents incase that fills up just doesn’t make sense. Staff attempted to say that the spa / hotel are separate but when your marketed as a Spa hotel the hotel should be responsible for the spa & availability. Outwith this …. The hotel is clearly popular for Afternoon Tea,s as we waited nearly 20mins to be served for drinks as staff to busy catering to the Afternoon Tea guests. In my opinion and due to my travel career you could get a better experience in a 4* hotel in Aberdeen, the average age of guests is 70yrs & that’s the a**osphere of the hotel it is very stale & mediocre. The only positive was the main meal was lovely & so was Sundays breakfast, Saturdays breakfast wasn’t good, the bacon was described as “crispy” but it was chewy rubber both is us couldn’t eat it so we had to eat out to get another breakfast. I have stayed in the Ardoe hotel & Spa in Aberdeen before & in my opinion it was far superior in all areas of the stay.

I just had an amazing Pregnancy Massage with Ashley in the Spa. It was so relaxing and really helped to ease some tension in my shoulders and lower back pain. I would definitely recommend this trea**ent to anyone in the later stages of pregnancy who is feeling uncomfortable. I slept so well after the trea**ent!

Spent Chris**as Eve at the Marcliffe.Lovely festive a**osphere in the drawing room 🎄. Loved the pianist playing .Stayed in a Deluxe Room which was spacious and clean.Liked the seperate shower and bath. Too many hotels going down the road of large showers and no bath. It's nice to have both If being extra critical the room was probably due a wee revamp,as are the corridors leading to the rooms.Loved the Chris**as goodie bag left in the room for us 🎁A lovely touch! Food was really good and we really enjoyed both the evening meal and breakfast .Staff all friendly and helpful.Room Was very reasonably priced for Chris**as Eve too .Would definitely recommend to friends and will be back !!!?

The best wedding day from start to finish, attending as a Grandmother of the beautiful bride. Staff were so attentive & friendly. Our room was so spacious, inviting & comfortable, there was a fridge with half pint of milk (so good, hate those little pots) along with a nice selection of teas & coffees. We’d booked our dog too, the hotel provided a doggie towel, water & food bowls, poo bags & a lovely wee bag of treats. Our room had patio doors & as it was a really hot day, so welcome plus a great entrance & exit for our dog sitter. The wedding food & drink was fabulously presented & tasted delicious. All waiting staff were impeccable & so helpful, especially at breakfast which we had to consume at reception or could have had it in our room but we met up with others who chose to dine with us & pooch. The scrambled eggs were absolutely the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended breakfast by all. The grounds of the hotel are stunningly beautiful too, so well manicured as were the courtyards. Checkout was easy. There is heaps of car parking. And the sun shone all day long 😀

Spent 2 nights at this stunning hotel. From the minute we entered the cosy, beautifully decorated reception, till the minute we sadly had to leave, we were blown away with the service and standard of food & drink. We attended the Chris**as party night, which was lots of fun, and the food and service were superb. Our room was very comfortable and very well appointed. The bed is probably one of the best I have slept in. Very quiet and peaceful setting. The mini bar with fresh milk was a nice touch, much nicer than the horrid longlife milk supplied in other hotels. Lovely selection of biscuits also! I'm guessing the bathrooms have recently been upgraded, lovely big sink and walk in powerful shower. The breakfast both mornings was delicious. Hot food made to order. Very busy service on Sunday morning, but still excellent, professional service! Lovely crisp linen table clothes & napkins and very attentive staff where anything we asked for was not a problem. We have been fortunate enough to stay in many fabulous hotels, the Marcliffe, for us is up there with the best! Didn't want to leave.
