"Hotel was in a great location, room was clean and very nice, bed was comfortable, and view was nice. Our bathroom was across the hall from our bedroom-- which though a little strange --didn't cause us any issues as it was private and clean (and huge). The only critique I have would be about the self check-in. I understand the goals of having a streamlined check-in process, but we didn't recieve the email with instructions, and had no answer to an email of inquiry. It took me phoning the hotel's administration to get an answer, in which the woman was very helpful, but did take away some of our time in Lucerne. If there was a more straightforward process that did not involve using the machine at the front door, as well as having clearer instructions on checking out, the stay would have been perfect."

This was the fifth hotel on my trip to Switzerland. It's two bus stops from the train station, but conveniently located right by the stop, so getting there wasn't an issue. The hotel clearly exudes a rich history and old-world charm, with its luxurious European-style decor. I had a bit of trouble initially finding the right entrance and the front desk within the building. I'd actually booked a city view room, but the front desk upgraded me to a stunning lake view room – seriously, you *must* book a lake view! The terrace views were absolutely breathtaking!! The room itself wasn't huge, but it did have air conditioning. The bathroom was a tad small, mainly due to a large, rather useless cabinet taking up unnecessary space.

sandyhowI had a really comfortable stay in this capsule hotel! The capsules are spacious enough and there’s a free locker to put our luggage. Toilets are always kept clean and dry. The lounge area is spacious and comfy. There’s a microwave, mini fridge and cutleries provided. The staffs are all really friendly as well.
The location is about 15 minutes walk from Luzern Train Station, but you can take a bus if walking isn’t for you. There’s a Coop 1-2 minutes walk from the hotel which is very convenient.

Hotel des Balances is a beautiful blend of history and modern comfort, right in the heart of Lucerne’s Old Town. The location is unbeatable — you can walk to the Chapel Bridge, Jesuit Church, and plenty of shops and restaurants within minutes. My room was stylish and very clean, with a wonderful view over the river. The historic facade and murals give the hotel real charm, while the interiors feel elegant and well cared for.
The staff were warm, professional, and genuinely helpful — from check-in to recommendations around the city
Overall, a fantastic hotel if you want charm, comfort, and a prime location in Lucerne. Highly recommended, especially if you can book a river-view room!

The room was spacious and well-equipped with all the basic necessities, making it a good choice for business accommodation. However, our booking included dinner, but the front desk couldn't find it... Luckily, I asked what time dinner was during check-in, otherwise, it would have been a wasted trip for dinner.

Guest UserFacilities: The hotel's exterior looks a bit old, but the lobby and rooms inside seem newly renovated. Overall, it's pretty good.
Cleanliness: Clean and tidy.
Environment: It's right across the road from the train station, and just a few minutes' walk to the ferry terminal, supermarket, and tourist attractions, which is super convenient.
Service: The ladies at the front desk were very friendly. On our first day, they helped us check in at 11 AM, which was very efficient.

It's okay to stay overnight within 10 minutes walk from Lucerne Station. It's close. Good to carry a suitcase. It is a good place to leave your luggage before check-in. And on the first floor, we had a restaurant, and they gave us a restaurant coupon, and they didn't use it.
There was no electric pot in the room. I think there was a coffee machine.
When you go out, it's good to go to the Capel Bridge right in front of you. There is Starbucks next to it.

I'm not sure why hotel prices near Lucerne train station were so high yesterday; I checked again and they've dropped by about 700, but my actual stay was very uncomfortable. The hotel is newly renovated and still smells of paint. They use a fan for cooling, which made me want to just run out as soon as morning came. Breakfast was at the hotel next door and was pretty good. The hotel offers self-check-in in the morning and afternoon. The location, however, is unbeatable – very convenient.

Hotel goldener stern has a very nice outlook. Very cool vibes when i first stepped in. Check in was self service and easy. The lift is small so its only good for one person with luggage or two persons without luggage. The room is clean just rather small. Toilet is clean too. About 10 mins walk to luzerne station. There is also a bus that you can take from luzerne station to the accom. just need to walk 2-3 mins from bus stop. Overall, not a bad accom!

Vernon82Cleanliness and location all good. It’s near a bus stop and we could wait the bus to go to central train station, it’s quite convenient given that we had a travel pass for free. They have hot water provided at reception but the room was quite small and crowded. Overall it’s ok.
