Amazing
SSimonWe recently stayed at The Grand Hotel and had a mostly positive experience.
The location was very convenient for exploring the city, and we really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had a good variety of tasty options.
However, there was one significant problem that impacted our stay: the air conditioner in our room was extremely loud. The noise and vibration made it very difficult to sleep through the night. We had to choose between being too warm or dealing with the disruptive sound.
Because of this, our stay was good, but not restful. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend requesting a room with a recently serviced or quieter AC unit, or perhaps visiting during a cooler season when you might not need to use it.
GGuest UserCentrally located in Lucerne, right across from the lake, this historic hotel has hosted famous figures like Princess Sisi and Churchill. The hotel's elevator and staircase exude classical European luxury. Upon departure, the staff kindly presented us with exquisite chocolates. We're very much looking forward to returning for another vacation.
SSk1973Convenient location, accessible by car but complicated, must enter from the back of the river. Good service staff, smiling, luxurious room, beautifully decorated, beautiful river view, beautiful light in the room, we stayed 3 people, not cramped, the bed is soft and comfortable, it is also a shopping area, shops close early, maybe because it is winter, welcome drink tastes great.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel staff were all friendly and helpful, and responded quickly to any issues. Having long admired the reputation of Motel, a five-star hotel in China, this was my first time trying it, and I was finally able to support a Chinese company abroad. However, upon arrival, I discovered it was quite far from the train station, a regrettable oversight as I had missed out on a hotel closer to the station. The lack of a lobby and the two flights of stairs leading to a long, narrow corridor made it inconvenient for people with mobility issues. The interior design was an industrial style with gray and black tones, lacking a warm and inviting feel. I personally disliked the dark atmosphere of the hotel. The floorboards had large gaps, making it difficult to clean the accumulated dust. The worst part was that the hotel faced a road to the north, and every time a large vehicle passed, the vibrations were like an earthquake – indescribable and unsettling. Despite numerous attempts to communicate with the hotel, my elderly relative couldn't sleep soundly at night. Ctrip also helped by communicating with the hotel multiple times, and staff even offered to upgrade to a north-facing room on several floors. However, the hotel refused to upgrade to a south-facing room or offer a refund. I'm disappointed with the management of this Chinese company and will not consider Motel again. At 6,000-7,000 RMB per night, the rudimentary room decor and the unavoidable vibrations made it a poor value for money. Lucerne is small; one day is enough, not worth staying for several days. My impression of the city and hotels during this trip was less than in other cities.
TTing Ying GohI had a wonderful stay at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Lucerne, but what truly stood out was the amazing staff and their exceptional service. After I checked out, I realized I had accidentally left behind my little plushie elephant, which means a lot to me. The team kindly helped search for it, found it, and even arranged to send it to my next hotel, completely complimentary.
I’m incredibly grateful to the staff for their prompt help, thoughtful follow-up, and genuine kindness throughout the whole process. Their willingness to go the extra mile really meant a lot to me. Thank you so much to the team for the wonderful service and care!
LLewisZzzThe hotel's location is very convenient, close to the train station and major attractions. It's a perfect choice for a short stay. However, the price is a bit high; compared to hotels in China costing 300-500 yuan, the rooms are a bit smaller, but I suppose that's acceptable for Switzerland. Nevertheless, it's definitely worth staying here. The front desk staff are very welcoming, and the breakfast selection is quite good.
LLauren A YoungGreat Hotel, but if you're coming solo enter through the back, it was hard to find from the street if you don't speak German! Great staff! And make sure you learn some Deustche
BButiaotideyoukeThe hotel is in a great location, directly facing the lake and mountain views. But there are also many shortcomings: 1) The room is small, and it is a bit difficult to move with two large pieces of luggage; 2) The breakfast is average, and there is not much to choose from. 3) Luggage handling is a problem, because you can't park at the door of the hotel, and the parking garage is across the road, so you have to drag your luggage yourself. There are two steps from the road to the hotel lobby, and there is no elevator. Of course, the beautiful waitress is very enthusiastic and will help with the luggage. The service attitude of the waiter is very good.
AAngela zhou1688Service: Super good. Since it is a long way down the stairs, there is a bell to inform customers to ring the bell and the hotel staff will help carry the luggage and send customers to the room to guide them to check in!
Environment: Overlooking the view of Lake Lucerne
Facilities: The bed and pillows in the room are very comfortable and soft
GGuest UserHotel was in a great location, room was clean and very nice, bed was comfortable, and view was nice. Our bathroom was across the hall from our bedroom-- which though a little strange --didn't cause us any issues as it was private and clean (and huge). The only critique I have would be about the self check-in. I understand the goals of having a streamlined check-in process, but we didn't recieve the email with instructions, and had no answer to an email of inquiry. It took me phoning the hotel's administration to get an answer, in which the woman was very helpful, but did take away some of our time in Lucerne. If there was a more straightforward process that did not involve using the machine at the front door, as well as having clearer instructions on checking out, the stay would have been perfect.
