"I highly recommend this hostel, it’s a last-minute booking, but it turned out such a nice stay. The hostel is just by the lake, with misty view right outside of the window in the morning. Close to bus station, transportation convenient. What’s more, my roommates are amazing, three girls from London, one from the US."

A truly beautiful pub hotel. Great friendly team, beautiful rooms, good food and real fire. Off road parking. Nothing to complain about at all. We will be back.

Traditional small English hotel, downstairs is the bar. English breakfast is provided. The house is a wooden structure ➕ later remodeled. The whole hotel is full of paintings and photography about the lake area. The reception is friendly. But note that it is a 20-minute walk from Ambleside.

CynthiafreshThe bathtub was not clean. I had a good scrubbing. The breakfast was good and the dinner was delicious. Both dinners were eaten at the hotel. The only thing is not good. You must rent a car. The car is over 30 pounds. Moreover, when we encountered bank holiday, there was no train driver when we returned. We even cancelled the train. We were very busy and made a bus. NationalExpress rushed to oxenholme and took a taxi to the train station in London. tired!
