Koh Kood Hotels with Bars

The environment is truly beautiful. Our room had a sea view, and there's a wooden boardwalk and a beach. The hostess is very gentle and thoughtful. It's about a 30-minute drive from the pier, with restaurants nearby, and a 15-minute walk to Ao Prao Beach. However, the hotel's downside is the significant amount of trash on the beach to the right of the wooden boardwalk. It's not visible from afar, but up close, it's quite off-putting. It's sad to see such a beautiful environment with such a neglected area. Additionally, the breakfast quality is not high, and the variety is limited. The seafood porridge mentioned in other reviews was also gone. We stayed for two nights, and on the second day, we ordered fried eggs, but they hadn't arrived even after we finished everything else. When the server cleared our table and asked if we needed anything else, we reminded them about the fried eggs. It took a long time for them to be served, despite there being only a few guests at the time. Overall, there's a lot of room for improvement with breakfast. Finally, I want to thank the owner. Our pick-up car was late, and our phone card couldn't make calls, so we asked the hostess to contact them. Later, the host also helped us, even waiting with us. The car was 23 minutes late, and I was anxious, worried about missing the boat back to Koh Chang. With the host's help and company, I was finally able to patiently wait for the car to arrive.

Overall, not bad. The bungalows are definitely very old and run-down, and don't really justify the price. We paid around 2750 Baht per night for a family bungalow. However, it has all the essentials, and a really great breakfast is offered. There are also plenty of activities for kids – a playground, swings, a trampoline, toys, and even cats and dogs. The front desk staff are generally friendly, and scooters are available for rent at 250 Baht per day.

Райский уголок с приватным бассейном! Отдыхали в апреле месяце, на море был сильный отлив, поэтому наличие бассейна очень скрасило отдых. Уборка номера каждый день, но бассейн в номере не чистят от листьев, приходилось вызывать. Завтраки в формате шведского стола, отличный выбор, но однотипный. Порадовало наличие на завтраке соковыжималки, каждый день у тебя свежий сок от морковки до арбуза. Все что разочаровало - это коктейли на баре: дорогие и невкусные, приготовленные неправильно. На ночном рынке коктейли намного вкуснее и дешевле) Ну а так, идеальный отдых за свои деньги.

Delicious food, good service staff, beautiful views, not many beaches, far from other places.

Easy to get to from the port. Upon arrival nice greeting and drink- the kids liked it. Room allocated quickly and the person who met us was great. Beach is excellent- sunset is beautiful. Pier great to jump from. Swimming pool warm with seats to relax in. Room was good, air conditioning worked. Ignoring broken toilet seat and broken soap dispenser- the room was fine and close to the beach, restaurant and shop. The room has WiFi and the tv has Netflix access if you have an account and YouTube. Motorbike hire is easy- check for bold tyres. We had a puncture almost immediately. My fault for not checking carefully enough . Service in the restaurant was disappointing- I had to ask each day for coffee. The staff pulled faces when asked as if it was too much trouble. It was awkward asking 2 days in a row. Both staff were equally difficult. I understand it is low season - not so many customers but they need to pay more attention to diners, play some music and have a simple welcoming look. Breakfast was not so good. If you want eggs or omelettes cooked- good luck! Everything seemed too much trouble. We had dinner there on the first night. The service was terrible but the food was nice and well presented. Booking trips or boats out was easy and well organised. It was strange that this was so good when the service in the restaurant in the same place was so poor. I personally would not stay here again, there are nicer hotels along the coast that have better service and facilities around the same price point, I didn’t take many photos here, it felt soulless. I was happy to leave. The island is excellent. I’m glad we explored it but I would never stay at Sea Far again.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We chose this hotel because we liked its location - close to Bang Bao Beach, but at an affordable price. For ease of movement around the island, the hotel staff offered us a good motorbike without any deposit. The owner of the hotel, Jay, is generally a very attentive and welcoming host, ready to help with any issue. He told us about interesting places on the island that are worth visiting, where to eat, and even where is the best place on the island to watch the sunset. At our request, Jay arranged our return transfer to Bangkok via speedboat and private comfortable car. The room we lived in was large, very bright and stylishly decorated. The bed is large, with a comfortable mattress, plenty of pillows and snow-white bed linen. The air conditioner is modern, not noisy, and quickly cooled a fairly large room. From the room there is access to a small terrace with a tea table and a view of the garden, there is a clothes dryer. The room has a modern TV with smart TV function and Internet access. The bathroom is spacious, the instantaneous water heater worked well, and there are personal hygiene items. Beach towels and a mat are provided for guests to relax on the beach. Upon check-in, guests will receive a compliment from the hotel. We had a great time at the hotel and would love to come back again, Thanks Jay 🙏

We stayed from April 11-13, 2069. I want to leave a review for anyone considering staying here, sharing my perspective on our experience in a family villa. What I'd like the hotel to improve… the staff's service. The front desk is the first point of contact for guests. We arrived as the only party, with no other guests. The staff checked us in, explained the information, and escorted us to our room, but they weren't very welcoming. Their tone of voice and demeanor made us feel unwelcome and that they were reluctant to serve. (We tried to tell ourselves it might just be the local custom). In the evening, we chose to eat at the hotel's beachfront restaurant. We ordered four dishes: seafood fried rice (which was good), pizza (decent, but no ketchup was provided – we had to ask for it), clear Tom Yum Goong soup (spicy enough, but the shrimp was tough and not fresh; we had to ask for a gel fuel burner to keep it warm, and there was no communal spoon. The staff stood by the service area, but when we called them, they ignored us, looking away and pretending not to hear, so we had to go and ask ourselves), and deep-fried barramundi with fish sauce (the inside of the fish wasn't cooked through. We asked for it to be re-fried, and it came back hard and burnt in some spots. We didn't complain further because we didn't want to feel worse). During check-out, we returned the key and waited for the staff for a while. They didn't say anything or inform us that they were having housekeeping check the room and would let us know once it was ready. There was no communication. So, we told them we were going to the restaurant and would be back for our ride at this spot. When we returned, our car had arrived, but there was no communication from the staff, and no ”thank you” to the guests. (Perhaps it's because we're Thai and not foreign guests, so we received 3-star hotel service. I'm writing this because I want them to improve for future guests, as I don't think anyone wants to experience what we did. (On the way back, our car stopped to pick up guests from another hotel, and we saw staff standing there, seeing off guests and thanking them… which was completely different from Koh Kood Paradise. We paid 10,000 baht per night, and we understand the price during a festival, but the experience was not impressive at all.)… We plan to visit Koh Kood again, but we definitely won't be staying at Koh Kood Paradise. What we did find impressive here were the rooms and facilities, the private beachfront breakfast, and the beautiful sunset in the evening.

We visit Koh Kood every year. As a family of three, we drive from Bangkok, park at the paid Ana Lay private parking lot, and then take a shuttle bus to catch either a speedboat or a ferry. Our usual pattern on Koh Kood is spending the whole day at the beach — playing in the sand, snorkeling, and taking some photos. Ana Lay Resort is located slightly on a hillside. As you walk down, you’ll find it surrounded by large rocks, and the property is arranged in a terraced style with a wide variety of room types. They also seem to be continuously adding new rooms closer to the beach. One of the highlights is the wooden walkway built among the large rocks — it blends beautifully with nature without damaging the environment, making it perfect for photos or a relaxing stroll. If you follow the path, you’ll reach the beach. The sandy beach is much larger than it looks in photos. At first, we were worried there might not be much sand, but we were pleasantly surprised by the size. There is also a spot where freshwater meets the sea, which is one of our favorite places. You can clearly see the changing scenery between high tide and low tide at this point. From the pier where the resort’s speedboats dock, you can enjoy diving and snorkeling. On the beach, you can easily spend the entire day playing in the sand. Breakfast isn’t extremely varied, but they offer freshly made noodle soup, bacon, and egg dishes, which we enjoyed. In the evening, the sunset view is stunning. The resort clearly recognizes this and has built the restaurant in a perfect location, making it easy to focus more on the scenery than the meal. I’m not sure if it’s every day, but the staff at Ana Lay also prepare a fire show. The quality was higher than expected, and we were very satisfied. This trip made it easy to understand why this place is popular among Thai travelers. We stayed for four days, and the staff were very friendly throughout our stay. Sometimes we rented a motorbike to go for lunch, dinner, or visit other beaches. A standard motorbike costs 300 baht per day, and a newer one costs 350 baht.

The service was amazing, amazing beach and good food in the bar , we have been checked in earlier without any problem, checked out later as well was possible. We did a snorkeling trip with the locals, thanks to the owner of the hotel, she was very kind and helpful in all regards! The room was a bit dirty, but probably we could ask to clean it more deep.

Captain Hook is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for peace and quiet. The villas are nice, we stayed in a room with its own mini pool. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel can help you arrange boat rides, scooters to rent, ferry tickets, etc. Some amenities the resort offers are massages, fire shows, snorkeling, kayaking, and skiing. You should know that there is no beach in front of the resort, but it’s a quick swim/canoe to the beach across from the resort. The restaurant and bar sits right on the water and offers various western and eastern options. We would definitely recommend the fried chicken wings! It was a great holiday and we would choose this resort again when we travel to Koh Kood in the future.
