The friendly staff was nice but the velvet bedding was the worst. I kept coughing because of the dust, and it was cold, but the heating didn't work.

Good hotel to stay for a few days. Clean, room service daily, great location in the gothic quarter, near metro, restaurants, cafes, bars. Safe in the room. It was not very lucky that the window overlooked the courtyard, in fact, on the wall of another building. You can tell the room was without a window. It is a pity that in a 3 * hotel there is no electric kettle and mini-fridge in the room. No socket next to the bed. Everything else is good. Breakfast is standard.

The receptionist booked us a taxi to the airport. It was 20 EUR more than what it should have been. We saw the taxi driver hand money to the receptionist. This was deeply disappointing as we liked the receptionists and is our last memory of Barcelona.
Tiles were falling off the wall in the bathroom and I have never seen such a shoddy grouting job.
The walls are very thin, we could hear our neighbours.
Other than that the hotel is in an ideal place and good for visitors who just want a place to sleep.

The location near to the metro was great, but it was also busy and loud at times. The room was basic and the breakfast was simple.

The hotel was basic but everything was clean and well maintained, all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made the stay enjoyable.
The area is a little noisy and busy but it’s to be expected. All in all, well done Hotel California!

The hotel is very conveniently situated only a few steps from the Rambla and in the gothic quarters. The room was nice and clean, but looking a bit dated and some of the furniture including the bedhead was peeling. The floor tiles had grout missing from them and the bath had rust on it. The breakfast provided by the hotel was good, a reasonable selection of food items to choose from. I think the Hotel needs a bit of an update and redecoration.

For its price, one of the best options in the Gothic quarter, I really liked the location of the hotel. It gets noisy a bit during the evening and may last until midnight during the weekend. Good and professional personnel. Although the breakfast was simple, I believe it is fair for its price. The only problem during winter times is the temperature inside the rooms, it might get cold. We were provided by a portable heater, but you can really use it too much. And since the floor is cold, I would suggest the hotel to give some hotel shoes to guests
