Our host Diana is an unbelievably one ultra-energetic human being who does it ALL by herself, with no help whatsoever, promptly, and with a big smile: hosting, preparing, serving, cleaning, fixing, gardening, making reservations, providing detailed recommendations, going out of her way to grant any request. One cannot but fall in love. Our room was OK, with good lighting, a good mattress (but fairly hard pillows), good insulation, basic but useful bathroom and shared kitchen. Breakfast was very good. The garden is beautiful. The private parking proved essential, and the location is unbeatable. Excellent vibe - other guests shared the same spirit. Would I come back? Absolutely. Do I recommend the place? Most definitely, but please do not expect to splurge. We stayed in Bayeux 3 nights in early October 2023. Our absolutely best dinner in our 10-day Normandy vacation was at Le Quarante Neuf, which in my book deserves a Michelin star and has fantastic value for money. About us: We are well-off, experienced travelers couple ages 67/73 who want to see it all. Our vacations are planned to the hour, and we prefer self-guidance. We are well versed in history, we love culture, music, food and wine. We try to alternate between city and nature vacations, including some exotic destinations (such as Namibia - see my slideshow in Youtube).
