The B& B was outstanding. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were cozy and clean. The breakfasts were super yummy, diverse and homemade. The B & B is very close to the town of Seward. The view of the lake was incredible with kayaks available and a youtube video of how to get in and out of the kayak safely and without getting wet. Pat also had a map of the lake which showed the best place to see a ton of bald eagles and salmon trying to get upstream. The Bear Creek Fish Weir is just down the road and Pat also has video explaining the fish story about the Salmon which is super interesting. So much to see in Seward with many shops and restaurants to choose from. There is a museum and a really nice and updated Visitor Center. Exit Glacier is also located close to town and is a must see. It’s a short two mile round trip hike to see the glacier up close. Perfect for all ages. Free parking, bathrooms and a Nature Center. She also directed us to Millers Landing where we took a water taxi to hike on Caines Head where we hiked to WWII Fort McGilvray. There were a few old buildings still standing. Super cool. Millers Landing had a cafe to get sandwiches to go or outdoor seating with plenty of hoteals to choose from. Our last day Pat suggested Kenai Fjord Tours for an all day excursion to see Holgate Glacier and dinner at Fox Island on our way back from glacier. The glacier was magnificent and our boat captain was amazing. We had unforgettable views of the glacier and wildlife. We saw whales bubble net feeding, sea lions sunning on the rocks, an otter and her baby floating in the middle of Aialik Bay and lots of birds including the beautiful Puffin seabird. This trip was one of my most favorite trips and our hosts Dennis and Pat had everything to do with the success of the trip. One more thing if you fly into Anchorage the drive to Seward is incredible as well. So many views of the bays, lakes, mountain sides etc.

Bear Lake Lodgings is an incredible base camp for your Alaskan vacation. Whether you're looking for a warm winter hideaway or a cheery summer stay, BLL is there for you! The stunning views of Bear Lake and surrounding mountains made for a breathtaking view from the breakfast table, where we were served a delicious meal to start our day. The Resurrection Peak Room had the coziest bed and sweeping views of Bear Lake and Res Peak. New owners Bre and Joey will make Dennis & Pat proud!

We typically search for places close to the action but away from the busyness of town which is exactly what we found with Bear Lake Lodgings B&B. Located just 3 miles north of Seward this beautiful lodge is situated right in the middle of nature directly on Bear Lake. Your hosts Pat and Dennis were super easy to communicate with prior to our arrival and offered a number of suggestions of things to do and stories during our stay. Spacious rooms with a sitting area and separate bedroom offer views of the lake. The lodge offers several delicious breakfast offerings as well as an assortment of ingredients to create your own trail snacks. Complimentary use of kayaks & canoes are available to enjoy the lake as well as bear spray if you’re going on a hike. A bonus is being located just a short walk or drive from Bear Creek Weir to watch the returning salmon. If you are planning a trip to the Seward area this is the place to stay.

Pat and Dennis have a lovely B & B. They have everything you might need. We loved taking the canoe out and found the informational videos helpful. Breakfast was good. Really loved the build your own trail mix station. Will stay again next time we visit Seward.

My friend and I had a wonderful experience staying at Bear Lake Lodgings for 4 nights in mid Sept. We were in the Lakeside suite which was super comfy and spacious. The daily breakfasts were very tasty and lovingly prepared. The location was great, just outside the city of Seward but close enough to all the sights. The best thing about our stay were the owners Pat and Dennis who were super sweet and friendly. They had lots of fantastic tips for things to do, little tidbits and places to eat around the area which was invaluable. It was so lovely chatting to both of them after a day of sight-seeing, it really felt like a home away from home. The b&b is located right on Bear Lake and they have kayaks you can take out on the lake and the views are amazing! We started out with iffy weather the first 2 days of the trip but it cleared out towards the last 2 days and it was glorious! We ended off with a glacier cruise that had been postponed the last 2 days because of inclement weather and Pat very kindly gave us hand warmers to prep us for the cold wind on the boat. Just one of the many thoughtful things she did.

What an amazing B&B set in a rare setting. Fabulous float plane lake with dock and canoes for guests use. My room was immaculate and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts are so accommodating and knowledgeable about the area activities. I felt welcomed and at home.

Pat and Dennis are the best hosts! And the house was just gorgeous… the setting, rooms, and all the activities you can do right from the backyard is just endless. Loved that each room had its own bathroom and the beds were so dreamy. Pat made wonderful breakfast and fun hotdog roasts by the fire with ridiculously amazing roasted marshmallows with chocolate and peanut butter! I probably should have taken more opportunity to hike and work off all those calories🤔 Would definitely recommend this B&B and hope to go back soon!

Bear Lake Lodge was an enchanting and restful experience. Pat and Dennis made us feel right at home with home cooked food and entertaining stories. We enjoyed the campfire and playing out on the water with the kayaks. It’s not easy traveling with three children under three years old but they were super accommodating and extremely helpful. Thank you guys for opening your home to us! We can’t wait to see you again soon.

Pat and Dennis are wonderful hosts! The room was large enough for 2 adults, 1 12-year old, and our baby. It was the most relaxing weekend I've had in years. The weather was drizzling, but we had a chance to kayak on the lake. We enjoyed the view of the lake from the breakfast table, while having coffee. Delicious breakfast was provided! The stand-up shower was comfortable with surrounding glass panels collecting steam and water droplets; I have a regular shower curtain at home and my shower does not steam up, so that was something I just never thought of as relaxing until then. :) Overall, we had a pleasant stay and are very grateful for their making an exception for our fur-baby.
