More European. Lake Bled, your prettiest part Slovenia. We hiking for one week non-stop. In Skocjan Caves exploring the wondrous and world heritage. High mountains we went cannoning for first time. An experience, a few nicks and bruise, but such fun. Guided track with goats, 10kms altitude hikes into mountains, clear blue water lakes. We slept like babies when we took packs off. Covered dirt, we stumbled on Hotel Vila Bled. Sublime, in for 1 night and stayed 3. First thing, a shower and swam from the hotel to remote Lake Bled Island. Almost lost my breath, but, there was best ice cream shop on island. We swam back, lounged with gin n tonics, stuffed goats cheese figs and olives. Heavenly. We dressed for dinner, 6pm sharp. Once Tito's place was built 1960's, European history, and Slovenia's finest. How good!

Beautiful setting and beautiful hotel. We were at a family wedding here and couldn't have been in a more idyllic spot. The wedding ceremony took place on site outside. The weather was fab. There was a drinks reception followed by the meal. Food was delicious. The only negative was the food was very slow between courses. The site has a great history and a wonderful place to appreciate the beauty of Lake Bled.

We have just arrived home from a holiday in Slovenia. We stayed at a hotel in Ljubljana for most of our trip but decided to treat ourselves to luxury one night stay at Villa Bled after falling in love with lake bled itself. We arrived late afternoon and were greeted by friendly, welcoming staff. The room was beautiful and spacious. Most amenities were to a high standard. The bed was extremely comfortable. However, it had a fan instead of air conditioning and in the heat found the bedroom to still be quite warm. For the price you pay I think air conditioning should be guaranteed. The bathroom was lovely but the shower was in the bath and not as practical as we would of liked. Breakfast was outstanding- a huge variety of choices. Sitting outside eating breakfast was truly magical overlooking the lake. The hotel has a private ‘beach/ swimming area’ which is amazing- lifeguards are extremely friendly and can’t do enough for you. Thank you Villa Bled for a lovely stay!

What an amazing hotel to celebrate a wedding. From the welcome to our goodbyes, the staff at Vila Bled were amazing. All super friendly but professional. A step back in time to the 50’s this hotel provided everything to complete the celebrations for our bride and groom. A perfect setting, with amazing views across the lake. The canapés and drinks were taken on the lawn and the wedding breakfast on the terrace, all were delicious.

We were fortunate enough to stay here for a night in June on a quick stopover on a much longer trip. The whole of lake bled is stunning and a must see. The hotel served as former Yugoslavian leader Josef Tito's summer palace. As such it is a stunning and imposing building located on the shore of lake bled. The hotel itself retains a lot of the charm from its construction and I felt like I was in a classic James Bond movie.our room was a balcony room and was massive. With herringbone wood floors and a very 60s vibe but also with a huge tv and very clean. If you can get a balcony room do it. We had a MASSIVE balcony all to ourselves. The room was great and the bed comfortable but the view from our room was the absolute win. Included in the stay are free boat rentals to go to the island and spa. We did the boats and had a blast. Our stay was pretty short so we didn't use the spa nor have the included breakfast. That said if they are like the rest of the hotel I'm sure they are good. Would highly recommend

This is a marvellous place. A stylish, beautifully designed villa, originally built as a summer residence of the Yugoslav president Tito, on the site where Austrian aristocrats and Yugoslav king Alexander all had their residencies, is now a 4-star period hotel with 37 apartment rooms and also the protocolar site of Slovenian government. The rooms, at least the one we stayed in, do not boast contemporary luxury , but are luxury old style, very spacious and functional enough, with the dominant impression being that of historical patina. The setting and surroundings of the hotel (owned by the hotel) are exceptional - greenery of the lavish gardens matching the turquoise of the lake that is at the foot of the hotel. There’s a private hotel beach at the waterfront and the guests are entitled to free use of small boats. The fine dinning restaurant on site is of high quality. The hotel staff are very polite and helpful and our special thanks go to Nives who works at the reception.

A quirky residence that is superficially splendid but hides decaying architecture and there is a definite lack of any buzzy atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The rooms and grounds provide splendid views over the the lake and the private boating/swimming area is a bonus. The breakfast buffet is good but the dinner menu is well over priced if you choose ala carte.

Wonderful hotel. We enjoyed staying at this historic building, with its amazing views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The rooms were large and comfortable (note room 304 has partially obscured view of the lake). We liked the overall ambience of the hotel, with its hint of the 1950s. Dining on the terrace was a memorable experience; such a lovely setting. Dinner was pricey, but food and service was very good. Excellent breakfast included in the room rate. We appreciated the complimentary one hour row boat rental. The hotel is right on the lake, with lovely grounds. Staff were courteous and efficient. Our only recommendation for improvement would be for the hotel to display more information on the historic nature of the building — Tito was an important world figure in the post war period and so many world leaders visited Vila Bled. We found a display on the history with some pictures (including information on the large mural in one of the halls) dumped in a room behind some restrooms! This could be displayed more prominently, perhaps in the lobby or the hall with the mural.

Neat. Great service. All the imaginable comforts, beautiful views, spacious rooms, large whirlpools, sauna etc. Very nice amenities. Their Creme cake was delicious. Complementary rowboats as well. Its neat to view history while walking around the property.
