Comfortable and well situated, just off the main square. We stayed 4 nights, and were in a room at the front of the hotel. It was a little noisy due to the bars right opposite, but nothing to complain about and was quiet by 11/12pm Breakfast was good and lots of choice, we didn’t eat here for dinner, as there was so much choice within a 5 minute walk. Would recommend 😊

The hotel is right in the heart of the historic district which is the only reason to stay. We booked adjacent rooms. The ceilings are higher than the rooms are long, or wide. They are rather tight with little storage space for suitcases. I would say that the star rating is more to do with the location than the quality of the hotel. It's very tired and uninspiring. The reception area is very dark and damp. The bar is tatty. The staff were helpful and friendly. If you are looking for nice comfortable base to retreat to after a long day's sight seeing, this is not it.

We liked the convenience of being located in the center of the city. Breakfast was buffet style and lots of choices from eggs, meats, cheeses to sweets, crackers, and cereals. My only comment about our room was our shower. It was leaking every time we used it and made our bathroom floor soaking wet. The other amenities were dated but sufficient for us.

This elegant hotel is located just a few blocks below Piazza Maggiore on a pedestrian street. The staff who checked me in were delightful. I had requested a room with a terrazzo and I enjoyed it very much in the unseasonable hot weather. My room was quiet and very comfortable. Behind the reception counter are a series of public reading and relaxing spaces. The room for the excellent prima colazione is used as the evening restaurant. I had one of the best dinners in a 3.5 week journey full of excellent dinners. The rooms are well insulated and the location is perfect in the pedestrian zone and only a few blocks to a selection of trams. I would highly recommend Hotel Roma if one is visiting beautiful Bologna

Four of us stayed here for three nights, we booked a double suite and two single rooms. All the rooms were good with excellent bathrooms and comfy beds. No view from the windows but that was fine because it meant there was no traffic and no noise from nearby bars. We had no problems with the temperatures in the rooms, not too hot and not too cold and it was nice to be able to have the window open all night. Given it's location single rate rooms were excellent value which isn't always the case. Attractive public areas with antique furniture and a great choice for breakfast, virtually whatever you wanted it was available. The hotel's biggest selling point was it's location, minutes from the whole of central Bologna with it's many shops, eateries, and historic buildings. A wonderful experience and when we go again we'll be staying here.

Excellent location, couldn't have been closer to the central square area. Room decor is an acquired taste but old world Italian style.
Hotel needs to up its game, In room kettle was broken and main door squeeked, the AC wasn't functioning and the breakfast was mediocre. It was OK for one night but my wife was very disappointed.
