Hotel AKA Boston Common Reviews

I booked the Kimpton Nine Zero hotel and apparently it was bought out about 10 days ago with no notice from Trip.com; but the staff are apparently the same during the transition so it was a bit insane that I pre-paid this stay on Ctrip and was immediately charged the full amount AGAIN of my stay at pre-check-in (not even room ready yet check-in) then charged the ENTIRE STAY again at 6pm on day of check-out even though I checked out at 7am that day and was reassured yet again all my charges would "fall off" and I would NOT be charged again. So this stay ended up costing me $1500 frozen in my account at one point for a $425 stay that was prepaid. The front office could definitely use some improvements as most people don't have an extra $1000 lying around to have frozen for no reason :(

Everything was great but the location

Very nice, the hotel front desk service is in place, the room style is retro, I like it very much

It's good and hygienic. The environment is okay. The bed is very comfortable, but the window faces the building and there is no view. The waiters are in place. There are many Chinese waiters. The two-bed room has two large beds and is very comfortable.

Older building/room and lobby is under a bit of construction but excellent staff and very clean. Great location, walking distance to stores and the T

I did pay at the property, the final reconciled charge for the hotel did not match the ******* price. They charged me an additional 'desitnation charge' not listed on *******, in addition 'resort fee' that was listed on the ******* site. Very shady.

Although Orbitz confirmed my reservation and took my money, when I showed up, the hotel was closed for renovations, and I had to find another hotel standing on the streets of Boston. The next day I contacted Orbitz and they processed a refund, but didn't offer anything else to compensate me for my time and trouble. Buyer beware.

Location was great in center of everything in Boston but hotel was under construction which wasn’t told at booking or on arrival .also that would be woken up by construction in hotel at 9 am and we were on 5th floor . Other then that great .

I had a bad experience at this hotel. Construction Noise starting at 7am and ran all day. Was told breakfast was complimentary - it wasn’t. Valet left my driver’s window down. Bathroom was filthy.

We showed up and they lost our reservation that I had a month in advance. I had originally had the room booked with the option to pay at the hotel, which I have never had an issue with in the past. The receptionist thought I was at the wrong hotel with the wrong room request until I showed them the reservation. With no available rooms left in the style and price of one that I requested, but thankfully I was able received an to one of the last remaining rooms. The rooms had lights that weren’t working correctly and the USB outlets were smashed in and unusable. On checkout I went to the front desk twice, but both times there was no one at the desk and I had to wait for someone to grab someone else to be able to check me out. On the positive side, the room was clean and organized, bathroom was lovely and all the nearby attractions and the location were great, and the valet service was probably the most professional through and through. As a hotel and as a trip I enjoyed my stay, but the interactions I had checking in and out left a lot to be desired. I will be checking to see if I get charged for the reservation I originally had, as I tried to cancel it and couldn’t and the staff told me it “should be fine”, even with it clearly saying on the reservation I’d be charged for a night for a no show. This is the first time I’ve had a situation like this and I was extremely disappointed.

The hotel was nice. No super direct connections for the T but not a long walk. No on site restaurant except for defined hours. Staff was helpful approached but never greeted when entering or departing.

The service was great; we were able to check in early and leave our bags after we left. Our only complaint is that there were hairs in our bed. It made it seem like it hadn't been cleaned.
