Went for birthday weekend to Bowral. Bought off luxury escapes as a deal Place looked absolutely charming and amazing gardens. Loved the fact it was old and had a lot of history. Rooms and bathrooms need a big renovation but was and clean and comfy bed. Gardens are amazing and so beautiful to walk around. Was extremely impressed with the restaurant absolutely amazing chef and food was Devine worth every cent. High tea was wonderful but just too much food even had to get a doggy bag to take home. Staff were extremely pleasant and extremely helpful especially Karen she was full of knowledge of hotel and she worked in different parts of hotel from bar - breaky- dinner obviously due to lack of staff.

What a bitter disapointment. ! Apart from the beautiful gardens it's not the place I remember when living in Sth Highlands for twenty years. Returned to visit my old business places and great friends. Now elderly, my daughter booked for two nights to revisit. Am slightly now disabled and found easy access to reception very difficult.One only disabled parking place around the back for 40 plus room accommodation is ludicrous if not illegal. Our suite was very dark, mouldy, cold and noisy. Well worn upholstered furniture and a hard bed. The breakfast staff were very friendly and hospitable. Average inclusive breakfast. The suite amenities bathroom etc average toiletries. The indoor pool was slightly heated still too cold to enter.Not a very accommodating for the prices charged. Would not recommend !!

This is a grand old property with so much more potential. The rooms are large and comfortable, however they do not have air conditioning or climate control, nor exhaust fans in the bathroom. There is a dusty smell throughout, and staff seemed to be absent everywhere except reception. We received a number of complimentary things as the service was poor...whilst this was appreciated, we would have preferred better service. Staff are lovely, there is just not enough of them. The spa area is amazing, and to have these included is a big bonus. Food was incredible, including the beautiful breakfast. The restaurant provided great quality food, but it would have been nice to have options other than degustation menus. Overall we had a very relaxing stay, and would recommend this place.

We loved our stay from the moment driving up the driveway. We booked the Deluxe Garden Room and loved the view out over the fountain. The grounds were absolutely stunning, a different hidden spot at every turn. Staff were very friendly and proud of the history of the property.

One of the best gardens in Australia surrounding a majestic historic property. Alas, the new owners (since Apr 23) don’t appear to have funds for staff training, basic maintenance of the property or replacement of derelict furniture. The operation of this grand old house is a shambles.

The Manager, Brendan went to every length to ensure a brilliant and enjoyable stay. The facilities ie indoor hot pool, indoor pool, sauna, steam room so relaxing. The grounds are beautiful and stunning.
