Amazing
AAnton from MoscowAbsolutely amazing stay. Every staff member we met was hospitable and helpful from the very start of the reservation process. The hotel location is perfect: not only inside Baščaršija with its cafes and restaurants, but next to a supermarket and a drugstore. The hotel has its own parking lots located in a one-minute walk. We had a room on the third floor (yes, there's an elevator) with a nice view on the Gazi Husrev-beg mosque. The room was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed. The breakfast was good, a couple of dishes changed every day. The hotel is highly recommended.
SShae IslamThe hotel is in the perfect location, scenic and near restaurants, shops etc. It is walking distance to old town and a lot of the sights, like the cable car, the wooden fountain, historical mosques, city hall, eternal flame, museums, markets, etc. The hotel is super clean and the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. The room itself was huge, bed was very comfortable, bathroom was fantastic, you’re given toiletries and tea, coffee etc. Breakfast each morning was fresh and tasty, buffet style with a variety of juices and coffees/teas, ate so much! Used the sauna which is free and you book sessions with the reception staff. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there again when I visit Sarajevo Bosnia again, loved it! Thank you :-)
AAToiStayed here for one night before an early morning flight and had a really lovely stay. I honestly didn’t realize until I arrived that Hotel Baškuća had been featured in TIME’s World’s Greatest Places 2025 and National Geographic Traveller’s European Cities Collection 2025; such a nice surprise and very well deserved.
The hotel is in a great location, just a short walk to Baščaršija (the old bazaar), which made it very convenient for exploring Sarajevo even with a short stay. The room was very cozy, clean, and comfortable, and the amenities were all thoughtfully prepared. Everything felt well-kept and welcoming.
I had to leave very early for my flight, so unfortunately I didn’t get to try the breakfast, but I heard from others that it’s excellent.
Overall, a very pleasant stay and I’d happily recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Sarajevo especially if you want somewhere comfortable, charming, and well located.
GGuest UserThe location is great, the aunt who made breakfast is younger and the breakfast is rich. The aunt who made breakfast also cleaned and was very careful. The only bad thing is to contact the hotel front desk, send to the train station only 2㎞, charge 30 mark, (because I am worried that I can't get a taxi too early, in fact, there is already a taxi at 6 o'clock in front of the hotel)
MMs. TRAVELLERLocation excellent
Rooms big & perfect
Big windows with excellent view
The rooms are covered with carpet
Bedsheets clean
Towels I didn’t use none so can’t say anything
Daily clean is done
Everything is around you
The best part is you have a big mall next to you & also a tram that takes you direct to the old town.
Swimming pool & spa amazing
My only concern is the breakfast time & the service that is provided Customer . Service is 0. It needs to be improved & staff need to be well trained & understand what is customer service. Otherwise its a place to be.
GGuest UserThe hotel room is very large, the breakfast is rich, the room is clean and warm, there is a balcony, you can see the beautiful mountain view through the window, it is only a few minutes from the Latin Bridge, I am very satisfied with choosing this hotel ~
GGuest UserThe hostel's location is excellent, right next to the main cathedral, with all the best sights within walking distance. There's also a tram stop nearby. Everything is very convenient, but the only drawback is the unqualified staff. I also encountered a common problem in Bosnia: if you book a hotel and pay by card (Russian), you might be asked to pay in cash upon check-in. I had to spend a long time proving that I had paid for my accommodation. Be prepared for this, or book without payment and pay on arrival.
GGuest UserThe room is large, the rooftop balcony has a nice view, the hotel facilities are complete, clean and sanitary. The breakfast is quite rich. The hotel is located halfway up the mountain, you have to take a taxi to get there, and it is very hard to walk with luggage. There is a large shopping mall nearby, which takes 10 minutes to walk.
GGuest UserIncredible hotel with very kind and welcoming staff. Nice and large rooms with an incredible view of the forest, a very unique experience. Would like to extend a thanks to Sanin for making the best hot chocolate I've ever had, and Mladen for serving us in the three times (!!!) we used the downstairs restaurant which had probably the best pizza I've ever had. I never use the restaurant in the hotel but this was seriously exceptional and had plenty of options. I ended up ordering Pizza Trebevic twice on two separate days. The breakfast options were good too.
Special thanks also to Mellisa at the front desk who let us check out late because our flight was late in the evening and greeted us with nothing but kindness, and booked us taxis as we needed.
The only problem you might have with the hotel is that the location is high up in the mountains. Cab drivers probably won't be very pleased to take you up easily and you will feel guilty that they drove so far for you. The hotel is basically in the middle of nowhere but the hikes around the area make it worth it. On the map it looks like it is not far from the main town but it is really far compared to other options. Go to this hotel if you intend to hike often but just bear in mind that you are high up in the mountains, far away from the old town center
KKubilay DoganHotel service was very bad. Rooms were not clean. Although We asked slippers twice, they didnt bring. There was A construction going on nearby. It was so noisy.
Absolutely awful experience – avoid at all costs!
I’ve stayed in many places before, but this was by far the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. Some of the staff were incredibly rude and couldn’t care less about the guests. They acted like they were doing us a favor just by being there.
The bathroom, especially the toilet, was unbelievably cramped and dirty – completely unacceptable.
Honestly, this place doesn’t deserve a single star. It was a waste of money and time. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone – even walking past this hotel would ruin your day. Stay away!
The only thing I can say positive was location.
