Gero Hotels with Breakfast

It’s a small Onsen with few rooms but that made our stay more relaxing and comfortable. Attentive services with an eagerness to explain everything to you despite the language barrier. The outdoor private Onsen was a plus that we enjoyed very much. The downside was the aged room and toilet we got. However, this was compensated by the food that was absolutely fantastic and unsuspectly filling 😋

One of our best stays during my time in Japan! The staff were very friendly. She shared with us where we should go for onsen, dinner and places to visit. Breakfast was simple but very hearty. We are touched that they considered our food restrictions and adjusted accordingly. Very thoughtful! We could also use the yucata and jacket to walk around town. Love this experience very much! The onsen is also lovely. We highly recommend this place and will definitely come back again. P.s they don't have yamato service if you need to deliver your baggage.

Magnificent stay at a natural onsen village. The most brilliant Ryokan you can imagine. Built at the beginning of the 20th century and renovated, all locations inside are beautiful and Instagrammable. Spent an anniversary here with my wife and had the best impressions of the whole trip. The Kaiseki dinner was above our expectations. The waitress explained everything, and we got a true cultural experience.

Very near to JR station and the onsen street. The open bath room is a bit aged but very spacious. The onsen are great but just a little bit too hot in spring time, it would be great if I can visit in winter time. The dinner is above average but the breakfast buffet is average. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

The hotel front desk staff couldn't communicate in English. Unlike some tourist hotels that primarily employ foreign workers, this hotel mainly has Japanese staff, many of whom are from neighboring Japanese cities. Local residents can enjoy the hot springs for less than 1000 yen. I arrived quite late, and thankfully, Trip.com arranged a pick-up service. It was 8 PM at Hida-Hagiwara Station, completely deserted, when I saw the hotel's dedicated car – I was so touched! I can't imagine what I would have done without it. It was snowy and freezing, and we had missed dinner. We asked the driver if he could stop at a convenience store along the way so we could buy some food, and he readily agreed. A big thank you to this hotel employee! My only complaints are: 1. The food quality was just average, and it was pretty much the same for several days, which was a bit... but if you don't book meals, the surrounding area is quite desolate with no restaurants or convenience stores. 2. It's an old hotel with no elevator, so carrying large luggage was a bit of a struggle!

Five women in their 20s stayed for one night. It was very clean and the buffet was delicious. Karaoke is available for 1 hour and table tennis for 30 minutes; you need to fill out your name and make a reservation. The free parking was a great help. However, the road leading to the parking lot and hotel is very uphill, so walking from the station would be tough. Walking to the Gero Pudding shop would also be quite strenuous. When we wanted to go to the Gero Pudding shop, we parked in a nearby paid parking lot and walked. There were many types of yukata available, with different designs categorized by height.

+ : beautiful, traditional Japanese hotel with nice tatami rooms. The room was spacious and confortable with all necessary amenities. The outdoor onsen was great and almost empty when I went. The breakfast buffet is ok. - : a LOT of stairs in the building (very difficult for elderly and disabled people, but also people with big suitcases!). There is a car that theoretically can pick you up at the train station or drop you off but I couldn’t use it when I arrived because I received no information on it beforehand or when I left because it only starts at 10am. The onsen is not tattoo friendly and you have to pay for the tattoo cover. Staff was kind but most of the time unable to offer solutions Overall, a beautiful ryokan but for the price, you can find better.

The standard room with breakfast and dinner is set. The room is facing the open-air hot spring. The hotel is located less than halfway up the mountain next to the hot spring museum. It is convenient to buy things in the shops around.

The hotel was great and had a traditional approach to the room setup. The price very reasonable for the relaxing stay and even though it’s a bit farther from the center than other hotels, it’s still pretty convenient. The self check out is also very easy to do. I definitely recommend it !

In fact, it is actually the other hall of Yating. There are 8 rooms in total, each with a private soup pool. When checkingin, there is an exclusive butler to guide all the way. 2.7 points are absolutely not allowed. Dinner is also very good.
