City Hotel Pilvax

Enough for use with good location. We arrived early and the staff packed the room and let us check in and store luggage there. They are friendly overall. However, it may be a bit difficult to communicate in English that day with the staff.

Good location and great staff, always willing to help. It's an old, tired hotel, without lift, so get ready to carry your luggage upstairs. Some old rooms (economy) are quite large, the renewed rooms (standard) even though look nicer are way smaller. Shower is tiny, you can barely wash yourself without hitting the walls. Breakfast is not a good value at 12 Euro, you can get way better breaky buffets in nearby hotels for 14 Euro.

City Hotel Pilvax is in a lovely central area, near bars, restaurants, shops and attractions. Good public transport links nearby. Clean room, shower was a little bit small so not ideal for plus size travellers. No lift so getting baggage upstairs is difficult.

Stayed here for a long weekend in March with my daughter booked as a package with Jet2. This hotel is situated on the Pest side and is in a great location near to the centre of most things. Our room was on the 2nd floor which has not yet been refurbished and it does show compared to the 1st floor. The room itself was big and beds comfortable enough. Breakfast was OK as included in price, I wouldn't have paid for it though. A basic continental and if for example croissants ran out, the lady working would not replace items and was quite blunt about it. Reception staff all nice and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay. Right next to a very busy Irish bar Jack O'Doyle's which was always buzzing.

We booked this hotel as part of a Jet2 package and I was a little bit worried after reading some of the reviews. However, it turned out to be a great budget hotel. The desk staff were friendly and helpful and when checking out they offered to stow our luggage for the day which was appreciated. The room was large and functional but clean and the windows opened fully - a rarity! The bathroom was small and I didn’t have high hopes for the shower but it was hot and powerful. Added bonus was the fridge. There is a Lidl close by and there are 2 metro stations a couple of minutes walk. Location is excellent. We had a Danube dinner cruise booked and it took 10 minutes to walk to the dock. Didn’t use the hotel for breakfast but cafe muse is about 50m away and we went twice to A La Maison Grande which was about 5 minutes walk and is excellent. All in all a good little hotel.
