Lyabi House Hotel

Extremely beautiful hotel in a great location, with very helpful staff. Nice breakfast, and a top notch dinner if you should decide to have an evening meal here. Large room, comfortable beds - all at an amazingly good price. Thank you for a lovely few days.

Booking cancelled by hotel at last minute, after having been booked many, many months in advance. Supposedly for renovation (only our 2 rooms?!) Tried to call them but they did not want to discuss. Understand in Uzbekistan, that bookings are not always reliable (eg better offers!), so beware.......

Lyabi House is very centrally located, very close to the Lyabi Hauz complex and within easy walking distance of the old historic part of the city. You need to pull your luggage and walk a bit from the road, to reach the hotel. It is amidst bazaar stalls selling souvenirs and there are many eateries nearby. The hotel is a traditional Bukhara house decorated with artefacts. The inner courtyard is beautiful and the restaurant on the elevated porch is very elegant. Extremely ornate decorations. The breakfast buffet is ordinary, nothing special but sumptuous. There are hardly any snack options available at other times of the day. The a la carte menu is gourmet. The upper floor rooms opening onto the inner courtyard are better. We had a ground floor room with street view, and had to keep the windows closed. Our bathroom had the smell of sewage coming in from the street. They give only one coffee and one tea sachet in the room. So if the second person also wants coffee, you need to buy it from the cafe. The staff at the reception were slightly inexperienced and hence not very helpful. The location is it’s biggest USP.

Lovely people work here. Always smiling and friendly. Breakfasts were very tasty. The room was comfortable, laundry service was prompt and reasonably priced. You can’t beat the safe and central location. I enjoyed my stay very much.

There is no better location in Bukhara. You are next to the peaceful Lyabi-Hauz square, with the people watching and cafés, but also in the middle of the historic quarter. The common areas of the hotel are spectacular, and you get the feeling of being in a historic house. The restaurant is excellent, both for breakfast and dinner, with accommodating staff, a varied menu, and a good drink list. Overall just friendly lovely people.

The most significant feature of this hotel - as many customers have already noted - is the fact that it's located in a traditional mansion: which explains the beautiful courtyard with a loggia, which overlooks an equally beautiful dining room (where we had our breakfast, good and included in the price). For the rest, the room we used was decent, with the usual amenities of a three-star hotel. Almost European level bill: the equivalent of 63 euros for a double room.

In the middle of town, yet in a quiet street, close to restaurants and all "must see stuff" is within walking distance. The hotel is situated in two former rich merchant houses. Look beyond the facade! The room was spacious, had good quality wifi, good beds, nice modern bathroom etc. Very good value. The breakfast is served in the beautiful main building, and was quite plentiful and delicious. Staff was very friendly.
