Hotel Atlântico Búzios Convention

nice hotel, the rooms look aged a little but are still fine. Hotel is on the main road and also backs onto the road by the sea. so a quick walk into rua das pedras is nice.

Family of 8 staying 5th and 6th August 2022. Several problems with this hotel : our Room, no glasses by the fridge, ordered some; keys failed second attempt, had to go to Reception for new ones; NO wi-fi in room; only 4 beds in swimming pool (occupied) wife & daughters on tread bear cushions on the floor, back to Reception to be told new ones had been ordered but had not arrived (tough luck !); pool toilet blocked, told waiter who directed me to one closer to Reception; breakfast large cockroach sneaked in frightening grandchildren, told waiter who called cleaner who came in with tools to remove beast, amusing sight of this pursue !; evening by the pool asked for two coffees and then milk, discussion behind the counter as to whether they had to charge me separately for that drop of milk (I’m Brazilian and followed their discussion in amazement, relief didn’t have to pay); lunch time opening noon but clients had to wait nearly 20 minutes “for the papers” and we had to delay transfer collection, you can have black coffee but NO milk ! absurd !; at Reception checking out, NO cash to give me R$10.00 (£1.50) change ! member of staff had to lend cashier the money to give me, again absurd!. But for the piece of resistance the night before at dinner, ordered nice bottle of red Portuguese wine, that bottle appeared to have been kept in their “cellar” for many years, so I said if this wine is cocked or turned into vinagre I would not pay, big “conference” !! another two waiters came to my table to discuss what had said (remember I am Brazilian), fear in their faces, because they said if they opened that bottle and I did not like it, the Management would deduct the price of that bottle from their salary (this folks beats them all !), but fortunately for all of us the wine was not corked ! Finally the security in this place is like Fort Knox, don’t forget or misplace your key or you will be in trouble ! Sorry forgot : drinks by the pool with glasses, glass crash and grand daughter lost a little bit of blood, but we survived ! Again, lovely staff but mostly young and untrained.

The hotel is at the center of Buzios in the Rua das Pedras area. Room is very large and comfortable. The overall hotel structure is great and the deal with the cost benefit is fantastic. I highly recommend that you include the lunch as it is very cheap and relatively very good food
