I'm in my 14th day of a 21 day visit to Castillo Beach apartments, Cajetta Da Fuste, Fuerteventura.....its not 5 Star, in fact, my partners first words on arriving were, "it was probably fine in 1980's" .....its probably not even 3 Star, BUT, you get what you pay for don't you ? I've booked self catering, my room has cooker, microwave oven, coffee machine, fridge, hob, fridge, sink, TV and shower.....and they all work fine 😀 There's a system here, basically, if you want anything, you go to the desk and ask for it....if you don't ask, you won't get replacement toilet rolls, replacement towels or bedding, in fact, it works really well: I've had no issues so far. WiFi....in the room it's almost non existent so I use my mobile data or I go to the reception area. Gym...its like something from a 1970's high school; hardly any equipment, very small and stuffy, hardly anything to use, BUT, there's enough to do a workout. Afterall, it's not 5 Star. I was in Caletta 5 years ago and there has been quite a lot of development here, the walks alongside the beach are longer and better, the roadside going up to our appartments are being improved as I write this....it will be much bigger in a few years. Local buses are excellent for day trips, very cheap and modern. Lidl is very close...just over £1 on the bus. Airport is £1.60 ish. Two of the most noticeable aspects for me; The pace of life here is very very slow, which has suited me fine, and, in 14 days I've experienced no bother or hassle, in fact, the only negatives have been the British Northeners....sometimes effing and jeffin around the pool and being rowdy after midnight, however, this has been very minimal. If you don't expect luxury you'll be fine.
