Very nice overnight stay between Plett and Hermanus .A different route through lovely countryside and some good wineries in Calitzdorp. Very peaceful b&b with good food , both breakfast and dinner . A good place to stop if on this route .

Our biggest disappointment was the swimming pool and the area around it. It was the main reason we booked Karoo Life Bed & Breakfast. We really wanted to be able to spend time around the pool relaxing during the very hot days we were visiting. The pool was dirty and not cleaned once during our 3 night stay. The Kreepy Krauly pool cleanser hose was also left in the pool the entire time we were there which made it impossible to swim across the pool. It also wasn't working. The pool looks nothing like it does in the photo. There are no loungers, and no umbrella covered patio tables. It's obviously a very old photo. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. The bedding was luxurious and immaculately clean. Very comfortable beds. The bathroom was also immaculately clean and the shower had a rain shower head and was very large. Our only negative about the room was there was a missing piece of the vertical blind on the door which made it very easy to see into the room, especially at night, and didn't offer complete privacy. The included breakfast was very delicious and filling. The property is very safe and located in a very convenient area. Parking on the property was very convenient and safe. If you are looking for a very comfortable and well appointed room and don't care about spending much time on the property we would definitely recommend Karoo Life. If however you are looking for a pool to beat the heat of Calitzdorp and loungers to relax on look elsewhere.

A really nice and clean room in front of an amazing garden near to the Restaurant of the owners with delicious meals. Here you can experience Karoo-Feeling at it‘s best. It’s near by the town, so you can do everything without the car.

We had a pleasant 2-night stay at Karoo Life Bed and Breakfast. The owners were welcoming and all the staff were very friendly. Our family room was comfortable and the meals we ate at their restaurant were delicious.

Very warm welcome to Karoo Life, we arrived in the evening of December 25th and all the surrounding restaurants were closed. Leslie offered to cook for us even though his restaurant was closed. We enjoyed it a lot. The room is very comfortable and remarkably clean. Go there with your eyes closed!

I stayed at Karoo Life Bed & Breakfast on a trip en route to Cape Town. Safe parking, a big and comfortable room and the refreshing swimming pool all helped to make this a great venue. In addition I enjoyed very taste meals - including a delicious pizza baked in a big wood-fired pizza oven in view.

Karoo Life Bed and Breakfast offers clean, well-appointed en-suite rooms together with a comfortable lounge and breakfast patio. The owners could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The location was perfect for all the local amenities.

We booked for 3 nights which is far too long to stay in Calitzdorp. Warm welcome by Madeleine on arrival. We asked about artists in the town but no information or suggestions of things to do were forthcoming. Our room (one of the garden rooms) was spacious but on entering the room, the floor was gritty. We asked for the floor to be mopped. I think more attention should be paid to the cleanliness of the rooms - the windowsills and the blinds were dusty. We moved the two single beds together and the floor underneath the bed hadn’t been cleaned for a while. Our room didn’t seem to be serviced again after our request for the floor to be mopped - there were insects on the floor in the bathroom. The blind on the front door of the room was broken so people could see into the room. We had meals on two evenings and the food was fine and reasonably priced. The property offered secure parking. There are some lovely historic houses in the town, the bougainvilleas were looking beautiful and the local museum was very interesting.
