The hotel's English name, 'Know Thyself,' is already quite impressive. Opened in 2023, it appears to be a stylish renovation of an older building, possibly a post-pandemic acquisition. This new Chinese-style hotel offers tranquil green views from its windows and is incredibly peaceful, despite being located in the Kuanzhai Alley district. Both the service and cleanliness are superb. My only minor suggestion would be to swap out the bar soap for liquid hand soap. A well-deserved five-star rating!

Let me start by saying the service was absolutely superb. Traveling with our little one this time, the staff were incredibly thoughtful, preparing child-sized slippers and toothbrushes. They also provided three complimentary Chengdu specialty snacks, and Lai Tangyuan was our child's absolute favorite. I had extensively compared various places online, focusing on their ambiance and environment, and choosing Jianshantang truly proved to be an excellent decision. We will definitely return on our next trip.
