My stay this time was absolutely perfect, and I simply have to give this hotel a glowing review! From the moment I stepped in, I could genuinely feel the staff's immense warmth and enthusiasm. At check-in, the front desk staff were not only incredibly efficient but also greeted me with warm smiles, patiently walking me through all the hotel's amenities. Throughout my stay, any request I had, no matter how small, the staff were quick to respond to and handled flawlessly. On one occasion, I accidentally stained the bedsheets. I called room service, and it wasn't long before a staff member arrived with fresh linens. They also thoughtfully asked if I needed any other assistance – this level of service was truly exceptional.

Cheap and Cheerful place downtown ChengDu, and there's nothing wrong with it. You step outside the hotel and can walk around and see quirky things just around the corner (see photo). This is in keeping with the hotel which is pretty quirky, with its coffee bar and arty decor. Of course if you want to go upscale, that's easy as the hotel is next to expensive restaurant with 'western' style foods. We just went around the corner where a small restaurant made dumplings, great stuff. We didn't travel thousands of miles to eat same food we eat in 'da west'!!

Overall, when I travel, my top priorities are hygiene, safety, and privacy. This stay has completely transformed my view of your establishment from 'Kempinski is my preferred choice' to 'Kempinski is *the* only choice.'
Not only were the staff exceptionally courteous to guests, but their engaging and friendly interactions with each other created a truly welcoming, 'home away from home' atmosphere throughout the hotel. This is, in my opinion, the true hallmark of outstanding hospitality!

The hotel's location is excellent, right at the subway exit, making travel very convenient. There's also an authentic food street just a 400-meter walk away. The rooms are well-appointed with a separate wet/dry bathroom, a mini-fridge, and a coffee machine. All the front desk staff were incredibly warm, enthusiastic, and attentive. We received a complimentary breakfast goodie bag. Due to the hot weather, we asked for water several times, and they quickly brought it to us every time. This was a truly worthwhile stay.

I was thoroughly impressed with my stay here! The hotel boasts an excellent location, just a 5-minute walk from the subway station. With a wide array of dining and shopping options nearby, getting around was incredibly convenient. The front desk and reservations team were professional and efficient. They proactively provided city maps, offered insights on local attractions, and promptly resolved any issues. Every staff member consistently offered warm and friendly smiles.
A special shout-out to Cassie, who was exceptionally responsive and helpful. She assisted with a late check-out and checked in daily, genuinely caring about my comfort. The guest room featured a minimalist yet cozy design, ample natural light, and excellent soundproofing. The plush, comfortable bedding ensured a truly restful sleep. The thoughtfully designed bathroom had separate wet and dry areas and was equipped with high-end toiletries. The consistent 24-hour hot water supply was particularly reassuring.
Cleanliness standards were exemplary. High-touch surfaces like elevator buttons and door handles were regularly sanitized, and the room was spotless, with no overlooked corners. A classic five-star hotel with excellent service. The restaurant food offered great value for money, and the breakfast selection was extensive, with the beef brisket noodles being particularly delicious. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful; upon learning I had trouble sleeping due to noise on my first night, they proactively arranged a quiet room for me and even replaced my neck pillow. The only minor downside was that our standard double room only had one chair, leaving the second person with no option but to sit on the bed. It would have been perfect if there had been two chairs.

Although only 4.5 stars, don't let that put you off.
I was pleasantly surprised with this 200RMB, low star hotel. the location is generally ok, but not within close walking distance of things you want - other than the metro station which is 1 stop from South Train Station - which is where you can get the express (or more stops) to the airport! (it's about 5 mins walk away from the metro). But, do note that the walk to the elevator to the metro is inconvenient, so bear that in mind if you're taking big suitcases!
Otherwise,if you're willing to walk or get a didi (Uber), it's definitely within close distance to most things foreigners will get to (other than the panda zoo... but you can metro to that, then walk or similar the last 1.5km). The breakfast was definitely nothing to write home about - it's a cheap Chinese hotel! I really only had the small buns and some (cold) beans (meaning - don't go too late if you want a hot meal). Also, don't expect the coffee or black tea... but again, for 200RMB, it's fine. What I really liked was the interior was quite nice. Sure, the carpets in the public areas are old and faded (and a bit stained), but otherwise fine. The decor is interesting. But the 9am-9pm female receptionist made things really good and easy. Her English wasn't great (and neither is my Mandarin), but she didn't freak out seeing a foreigner. After we had issues with the language barrier, she quickly went to the online translator, and we got things very quickly sorted! I've definitely paid a LOT more and a far worse experience (both with staff and with the accommodation... sort of like I had with the 9pm-9am girl at 7am... not professional at all! Fortunately, that was just checking out, when I ended up just dropping the card and walking out)

The location was easy to find, and the service exceeded expectations! Check-in was quick at the front desk in 30 seconds, the room was clean and odor-free, and hot water was available 24 hours a day. The soft, comfortable bedding ensures a great night's sleep, and the excellent soundproofing guarantees a peaceful private space, even though the hotel is in a bustling city center.
The front desk staff are warm, friendly, professional, and efficient. Both check-in and check-out were handled swiftly, saving me time and effort. Housekeeping staff are attentive and thoughtful, cleaning the rooms meticulously every day to ensure a spotless and organized environment.

GGuest UserThis was the hotel my child enjoyed the most during our Sichuan trip. It came with a tent and a rocking horse toy, and at just over 500 RMB, the price was quite reasonable. We stayed for two nights, and the kids didn't want to leave.
My only minor complaint concerned breakfast on our departure day. We had an early high-speed train to catch, so I asked the front desk the day before if we could adjust our booking to a room-only rate. The front desk informed me that a rate change wasn't possible, but they could pack breakfast for us. We were promised three portions, but upon checking in our Didi car, we discovered they had only packed two. The quantity was so meager it wasn't even enough for one child, so the two adults ended up having to buy breakfast at the high-speed rail station.

MM348361****I've stayed at this hotel before and heard it's been renovated. This summer, I took my kids to Chengdu and chose this one too. It's definitely more beautiful after the renovation. The takeout is delivered by robots, which the kids found fun and convenient. The self-service coffee shop is a must-see for any hotel; you can get some hot water and coffee in the lobby while waiting for your car. These simple touches are exactly what I need. This time, I chose a windowless room, expecting it to be stuffy, but it wasn't. You couldn't even tell if there was a window. I won't have to worry about it next time; it's even cheaper without windows. The voice control was a new experience this time. It's so convenient. I can adjust the air conditioning and turn off the lights from the bed. I'm going to buy a new one for my house when I get home. It's amazing!

The owner was incredibly friendly, truly leaving a great impression of Chengdu hospitality. The room was spotless, and the washing machine, air conditioning, and TV were all brand new and worked perfectly. The provided toiletries were also of good quality. However, the hairdryer wasn't very powerful, so it took quite a while to dry my hair. The hotel is conveniently located near Donghu Park, which is great for a leisurely stroll. From the room, I enjoyed a wide and open view into the distance.

GGuest UserThe selected big bed room experience is full! The overall decoration style of the room is simple and not lost in texture, and the space is spacious and not depressing. The most surprising thing is that the selected big bed, the softness of the mattress and pillow is just right, lying down is like trapped in the clouds, sleeping very peacefully all night, completely relieved the fatigue of the journey. The room was cleaned very thoroughly, the sheets were white and stainless, the bathroom area was separated from wet and dry, the hot water came quickly and the water temperature was stable, the toiletries were also very exquisite, and the details were full of care.
Must praise the handsome guy at the front desk alone! The smile was very kind when checking in, the action was quick, and all the procedures were completed soon.
