We arrived at 10.30 on Saturday morning and asked for a seat in the outside area. We were advised that we would need to place our order indoors, pay and the coffees would be brought to us. After a 20 minute wait, we went inside and asked how much longer we would have to wait. They apparently had no record of our order and advised it would be prepared immediately. Some 30 minutes after our original order, the coffee arrived. No apology for the long wait and no interaction at all from the staff. Terrible service and can only wonder how much worse it gets when they are busy.

Lovely coffee shop friendly staff great cakes. What more would you need? Oh apparently my review has to be at least 200 letters. I can’t think of anything else to say just that if you are in Chipping Campden don’t faff about if you want a coffee this is the place to be 😀

We stopped here for tea and cakes on a rainy morning, and were delighted with both. I had the Bakewell tart, and it was the best I’d had in a long time. Lots of cherries in the base jam, topped by light almond sponge. The ambiance in such an old building is lovely, and the service was swift and friendly. Definitely somewhere to visit again.

From the outside the tearoom looks attractive, so we entered and were seated and given menus straight away. We sat and watched numerous others be seated while we waited to be served, but we weren’t. Even though sitting in the centre of the cafe. We couldn’t even make eye contact with anyone to ask for service. Completely ignored. We waited approx 20 mins and walked out. I’m pleased I didn’t hand over my money, they are so undeserving, from reading other reviews I see we aren’t alone.

Visited 3 days ago then again today with friends. It was extremely busy on both days but the staff were friendly, efficient and very switched on and so organised. Food was very good service great. Would highly recommend this tearoom. As we were going in there was a small queue the couple coming out said it's worth the wait so they were happy customers to.

We had a lovely spacious room at the top of the stairs, under the eaves. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was delicious.

A gorgeous Cotswold stone cafe, which we stumbled upon last Saturday at around 3pm for an afternoon treat. There was a lovely range of cakes and the coffee was so warming on a cold day with impeccable service by a lovely young girl. Will definitely be returning!

We stayed in the Hens Nest for 3 nights. Beautifully restored interior. However, far too much furniture in the sitting room for the size of the room, especially considering one has to leave suitcases here as they won’t fit in the bedroom upstairs. Room is very dark and gloomy. Bedroom upstairs in eaves - one needs to be careful not to bump your head on the beams. Some of the plug sockets which are fitted onto the shelf behind the bed and against the wall aren’t fit for purpose as, because of the angle of the wall, you can’t get a plug into them. Kitchen adequate but certainly not for long stays which is what their website suggests this is suitable for - no sharp knife or chopping board in kitchen. Fridge was so cold that it froze our milk and vegetables. Cupboard door to fridge needs adjustment as you have to push it very far back to stop the fridge door catching. Bathroom is fine albeit very petite. Flush on toilet needs attention. We had tea and cake in the tea room which was delicious so that was a positive although it seems they are short staffed as tables weren’t cleared and the conservatory area seemed rather grubby. At no point during our stay did anyone approach us to check that things were ok. I’m not sure they’re offering value for money.

We stopped in for breakfast at this nice inn. The omelets were delicious and oozing with wonderful cheddar cheese. It also was a great place to get a good latte. The service was quick and efficient.
