Staff are half rude and half helpful depending on who works the front desk. The breakfast is more at home in a jail environment then a hotel, the bathtub was clogged the whole time there and they have a stay over policy in which they charge 20 dollars just for you to stay in the same room. Which I find ludicrous and have never heard of such a penny pinching policy and I frequent hotels all over

I was here for business, stayed two weeks. Absolutely no issues. Room was very nice. I think they recently redid a lot of things here. There is a pool which I did not use but did see kids using. It's an outside hallway place but it does have an elevator. Housekeeping was daily and the room I was in had the best shower of any hotel or motel I have stayed at in California in years. Parking can be a little tight but street parking is available. Although it is on a main street through Chula Vista, it is remarkably quiet at night. Breakfast is good.

The worst stay ever. we got to the hotel. Went to check in at 3pm and was told that my reservation was canceled. had to rebook a reservation that i had for 484 and had to pay $794.82. We had a few friend over for a drink and was asked to leave the following day. We were told that the front desk agent did not feel safe. They called the cops and had us removed. Literally the worst experience I've ever had at any hotel. I would never recommend that anyone stay here. The breakfast was also terrible. dry and burnt. waiting on the General manger to give me a call to let me know how I made them unsafe and why there were NINE (9) cops called to remove me from a room we paid for.

The Check In-time begins at 3:00pm, and early check-ins are subject to availability, due to peak summer time and San Diego being a tourist destination, early check-ins are unfortunately unavailable at this time. Forcing our staff and creating chaos in the lobby is not acceptable. Usage of intentionally blocking hotel room inventory by using a fraudulent credit card is a misdemeanor and against the hotel policies. Your reservation was flagged and marked as invalid by the website you booked it from because of such an event. Causing a ruckus and preventing other guests from staying is not something we appreciate as an aftermath. Calling other guests who are staying at the hotel who are complete strangers to your room without any context resulted in multiple complaints against your behavior and it's an unusual activity that is not in accordance with the hotel policies, further complicating our efforts to uphold a tranquil atmosphere. Moreover, inviting people to your room after the regular visiting hours without informing us is against the hotel policies and no exception can me made when there are multiple violations, We still allowed you to peacefully stay and although the stay amount is non-refundable according to the website policies you booked from, we still went ahead and refunded the remaining few days to make your stay pleasant. Despite these challenges, we made efforts to accommodate your stay in a manner that aligns with our commitment to guest satisfaction. We understand your dissatisfaction, however, we must stress that actions or statements perceived as threatening to our staff or guests cannot be tolerated. Our policies are in place to ensure the safety and comfort of all who visit our establishment. When you were informed about the hotel policies, your reaction with violent behavior was perceived as threatening to our peaceful staff. Upon your own admission, your explanations were insufficient to prove your innocence to the police because of validity and soundness to take such an action against you. The people are rude. 200 a night got us a 3pm check in time (the guy at the counter said he would charge me extra for early check in when we arrived at 1:30pm. The breakfast was Dried out powdered eggs, burned sausage, expired yogurt... housekeeping started pounding on our door at 10:30 am insisting that we "leave now" despite the 11am checkout time.

You came to the lobby to check-in at 12pm, yet the front desk agent checked-in for free by waiving your early check in fee. The check-in time is at 3 pm which is clearly written on your confirmation letter, but you were inconsiderate why the check-in time should be 3 pm!!! Additionally, on your reservation you deliberately placed guest information 1 adult & 2 children, but while check-in there were 3 adults & 2 children. Hotel still gave you a free upgrade with a pull out sofa bed suite room with 2 queen beds. Finally, you also checked out late at 12:30pm. After getting free early check-in at 12 pm, adding 2 extra adults for free, getting a free upgrade with a suite room & finally getting a late checkout for free we seem to have failed to satisfy your requests. We still apologize to you after providing all of these extra facilities for free. For educational purposes we would also like to inform you that your assessment about the eggs being powered is violently incorrect. We provide scrambled whole eggs and well-cooked sausages and fresh yogurt! Came from Louisiana to San Diego for my granddaughter’s graduation. Stayed 9 days, my room was very clean and comfortable. Center-ally located depending on what you want to do

Courtesy should be standard from a service industry business. Not at this hotel. We were denied checking in 45 minutes early. I understand this if there is not a room available but they actually have a sign, which I saw later, printed that says no early check in. They are not accommodating anyone. Breakfast is until 9 am on a Saturday. First it is the weekend and second we are on vacation and third they did not inform us of this upon check in. We fortunately made it to breakfast before 9 am. At 9:02 we were kicked out of the dining area, although we had not completed our breakfast and were in the process of eating, and told we would need to eat in our room so they could mop. No information about check out, pool times, breakfast time or anything else was provided at check in. I was informed that I could have "visitors" from 9 am to 9 pm. If I wanted visitors in their own car outside of "visiting hours" I would need to pay $20 for a parking permit for them. My credit card was charged $100 OVER what the room was for and in addition a separate deposit charge of $100 was charged to my card. NEVER AGAIN. Best Western is usually much better than this. Not at this hotel.

Clean rooms, parking, amenities. The air freshener in the room was very overwhelming and unnecessary considering the rooms are much cleaner than most hotels. Great variety of breakfast items, including hot items.

On the day of the checkin, at about 7pm, I received a call from the hotel asking me what time I am going to arrive. I feel it's unusual and a bit annoying to receive such a call from a hotel which already charged my first day stay on the credit card already. After the checkout, I figured that the hotel charged me the full amount on my credit card, although I paid the majority of the fee using travel credits. I needed to call them directly to correct this. The staff who answered the phone is a bit rude, saying "YOU SHOULD tell the front test that you paid the reservation using the travel credits." It made it sound like my mistake. First of all, no one told me I needed to mention it, secondly, it's clearly said in my reservation how much I paid using travel credits and how much is due. As long as they have taken a look at the reservation, they should not have missed this info. BTW, I am still waiting from my refunds. The hotel is not very sanitary. The towels are pretty dirty. I only received a set of shampoo, conditoner though booked for 4 persons. When I asked for more supplies at the front desk, they asked me the room number and reservation info and wanted to verify if my room has a 4-person capacity. It's pretty annoying.

It is a good hotel practice to familiarize ourselves with the estimated time of arrival as the evening falls, to be as accommodating as possible by the means of diligent and effective communication, and establishing customer relations. It is irrelevant if others are not practicing it anymore at an economy level which shows disregard and lack of concern about the arriving guests, especially if the guest travel might be delayed for various reasons. Each Best Western Hotel is independently owned and operated. Every Hotel uses a different PMS, and if some hotels in a different location are loose on implementing their policies, it doesn't change the good and effective principles being followed at another Hotel. When a guest makes a reservation, all the critical hotel policies and offerings are displayed under their designated sections, which is expected to be gone through and understood by the guest from the perspective of the hotel. There is a $100.00 security deposit held on each room as indicated while booking. Also, as per the cancellation policies of the booking, as the first night is non-cancelable, therefore all the arrivals are automatically pre-authorized for the first night for each room. An authorization is not a charge, it's just a hold to ensure there is a valid mode of payment associated with the booking. However, the soundness of the mode of payment can only be attested when the mode of payment is verified in person as the information arriving is limited due to the encryption and privacy policies. The hotel is unaware of the card on file being under the same name as per the reservation as used by the guest while making the reservation, to prevent fraudulent use the mode of payment is verified during the check-in to ensure the appropriate use and prevent disputes. The final charge is only posted when the guest checks out upon inspection of the room's condition. The incidental or security deposit amount held on each reservation is only released during this time and the total amount is posted as a final actual charge. The Standard Release of Authorization and settlement of charges: It may take 3-5 business days for your financial institution to clear the Pending authorizations or convert them to the final charges based on their processing times. In some cases and International instances, it might take up to 7-10 business days. On the contrary, If the pre-authorization is reversed, you do not see it as a credit on your statement because it was not a charge, it was just an authorization
