NH Koeln Altstadt

I enjoyed it immensely. The staff were very friendly and professional. I would definitely go back here if I visit Cologne again. My new favorite.

This NH hotel seems to be heavily promoted by Trip.com, and after staying in so many hotels, this one actually brought me many 'surprises'. 1. According to the pictures of the premium room type, the view outside the window clearly showed a church. However, when I asked the front desk, they bluntly told me that the room type I booked doesn't include a church view and I'd have to pay extra. Is this deceiving customers? 2. There were many holes in the bedding. I've stayed in countless hotels, and this is the first time I've seen such poor quality control. 3. As for the toiletries, the shampoo bottle was empty – literally not a single drop could be squeezed out. The shower gel bottle was open and uncapped. 4. The room hygiene was terrible. I didn't even dare touch the hairdryer, it was so dirty. 5. Continuing with the cleanliness issue, the coaster under the mouthwash cup clearly showed dried water stains from a previous guest. The dust on the floor lamp was as thick as accumulated snow. I reported these issues to the front desk, but they were very cold, dismissive, and offered no explanation. Avoid this NH hotel.

The room was just like in the photos, spacious and comfortable. Good hotel service. There were great views from the window, you could see the cathedral. Nearby, there are beautiful areas by the river for walks, and you can reach the city center by following the river on foot. Good value for money.

I didn't take photos of the Superior room, but it's definitely more spacious than the standard room. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, which I actually prefer. The hotel is very close to the Chocolate Museum and right by the Rhine River. In the mornings, lots of people are out walking and exercising, so the environment is quite pleasant.

Breakfast was indeed great. The location is a bit noisy, but closing the windows provides decent sound insulation. The ground floor environment is quite nice.

Top location, clean and quiet, really nice and helpful staff, and the amenities were more than sufficient.

This is a pretty good hotel, very clean. It's right across from the Chocolate Museum, which I highly recommend visiting.
