Disappointing Stay at Al Khoory Sky Garden
I've stayed at numerous hotels, but my experience at Al Khoory Sky Garden was appalling. I'm writing this review to warn potential guests about the issues we encountered.
We arrived at 8 PM and were looking forward to a relaxing stay. The check-in process was swift, but when I asked for a room with a nice view, I was told they were fully booked. Later, we discovered a disturbing issue: hair on the work desk, including strands from someone's private area. I was disgusted and called the reception to request housekeeping. Despite multiple calls, no one came to clean the room.
After two follow up calls snd almost 20 minutes of waiting, I went down to the reception and expressed my frustration. The receptionist seemed unbothered, asking me why I needed a clean room so urgently, asked if I was going somewhere. I lost it and requested for a new clean room. I showed them photos of the hair, and they finally took my request seriously. They "upgraded" our room, but it felt like damage control.
The rest of our stay was marred by issues: 10mb internet capacity –you have to pay if you want faster connection, delayed requests for water bottles, and malfunctioning air-conditioning. Even the complimentary fruit they sent felt like a belated attempt to make up for the poor service.
One positive aspect was the pool staff, who were professional and welcoming. However, these redeeming qualities couldn't outweigh the numerous issues we faced.
Lessons Learned:
To avoid similar problems in the future, I suggest Al Khoory Sky Garden conduct staff training in all aspects of the hotel. Reception and housekeeping need to prioritize guest requests and communicate effectively.
Recommendation:
If you're looking for a good pool experience, Sky Garden might be worth visiting. However, be prepared for subpar service and potential issues with cleanliness. You can find better options with better service at a lower price point.
