I lost a $50 non-refundable deposit at canyon country lodge in order to change my reservation to Escalante Escapes, it was the best $50 I ever lost. Tuesday afternoon 4pm arrival for 3 nights everything is prearranged via email to get you into your tiny house. Spotless inside and out, plenty of towels and toiletries and the bathroom heater warms the towels. Any questions you have and anything extra you need is just a text away. We stayed at Holly Hock and it’s identical to what you see on website, TA and YouTube, they advertise as tiny home but for the 2 of us there was more than enough space. It’s absolutely perfect inside and out and everything in the house works, even the outdoor grill was cleaned before our arrival. Get staples at Griffin Grocery, Escalante Mercantile (steaks and burgers in freezer section) and wine at Escalante Outfitters liquor closet and beer from gas station. We used tiny home as base to visit lower calf creek falls (epic hike), Kodachrome, and the Burr Trail. The washer/dryers are really handy since you are a mess after hiking this area. I would definitely pick the Holly Hock for the view and privacy, make sure you look at the stars at night. Having a full kitchen was best part, we eat dinner late and one of the things EE warns you there are limited number of restaurants in area, and they close early. We got takeout at Nemo’s one night and food was great. Also discovered from the Escalante Interagency Visitor Center (go there to get your maps) that we were traveling during end of monsoon season which we had no idea about, there are plenty of fast-moving storms so plan accordingly. We stayed in 6 different hotels on this trip this by far was the best, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.
