After a brief mis-understanding about pool towels, our stay here got better and better every day! Such a lovely property, on a fair steep hillside across the main road from the ocean. Such a beautiful view of the reef! Our Garden view Bure had a great view of the lovely maintained ,park like, front property and the sea. The bure itself was older, but very comfortable, with a small fridge, great king bed, a.c., fan, kettle, tea ,coffee etc., outdoor shower, and a great front porch for "happy hour".It had a real Fiji vibe, which is what we were after. The pool on property was still open while decking was being replaced around the perimeter, and was nice. It appeared dirty, but that was just because the bottom was not painted blue ,like most pools. It was also quite deep, at over 6 feet! The restaurant on site, "Divas Delight", is run separately from the accommodations, and is excellent! Dinners were limited to 2 or 3 entrees every day, but man, everything was great! The best food we had in Fiji! Location of the resort is very good, only a 10 minute walk up the hill to the airport, add another 5 minutes, and you get to a couple of different stores/gas stations, where you can buy snacks, food, and cheaper cold beers. The one closest to the airport has the coldest beer we found in Fiji, at only 6FJD for a 750 ml bottle. It's great to find a cold beer for a reasonable price, as anyone who has been to Fiji can probably tell you, alcoholic beverages here are darn expensive! You can catch the rare buses on the main road right in front, and they are very cheap, and quite interesting! The resort offers various local tour opportunities, we took the local buses to a couple sites on our own, and saved lots. No regrets . If you are coming or going from Vanua Levu on any of the now 3 different ferries, it is only a 20 minute drive from the newish Gov't pier . I really miss the evening Kava sing alongs at the Maravu! The staff members who do it every night 7pm til? are the greatest! Other places you are lucky to get a tiny cup of Kava a week, but "Zack" was generous of his time/entertainment, and Kava! And it was not "weak" like at other places we stayed. Staff of the resort are mostly related, and all really great! In hindsight, I am really missing our time here.
