We booked this 3 star hotel in Adelaide purely for its location close to an event we were attending. Upon arrival, we were surprised to find the lift was out of order. Thankfully, a second lift was operational but only with the down button, but it wasn’t the most welcoming start.
Check in was handled by friendly staff who offered a warm smile, though nothing beyond the basics in terms of service.
Once we reached our room on the 5th floor, it was hard to ignore the issues: part of the ceiling was missing and the carpets were noticeably dirty. While the room itself was functional, the bed felt more like a slab of timber than a mattress definitely not made for comfort.
We left our bag and headed out, but I couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling the hotel gave me. Ultimately, we made the decision not to stay overnight and returned later to collect our bag and check out.
This may be a suitable spot for some travellers who prioritise location above all else, but unfortunately, it wasn’t the right fit for us.
