The Red House

It is a lovely small Hotel and good location. I walked for 20 min and is manageable. Room is nice and clean. More importantly Stella is a lovely kind lady taking care the place and customer. Excellent value for money

After a long and emotional day at a funeral what a haven of rest. Homely, clean and comfortable our visit was made special by our hostess, who was warm and charming and made us feel welcome. The breakfast was perfect...especially the mounds if sourdough toast and nice coffee. Thank you...you were just what we needed.

Great location while a quiet place to rest for visiting town. Although I could not try the food due to my schedule, the smell and attention to it were fantastic. Decent on price for what is on offer.

Lovely welcome from the very friendly and helpful lady who stood in the freezing cold to hold me a parking space while l went to fetch my van. Thankyou. Would definitely recommend 👍

Very friendly hotel with comfortable room and lovely breakfasts. We were well looked after! If I had to think of any drawback, it may be that there is quite a walk (which we did first eve) or a drive away to any eating places for evening meal (second eve), but we found the parking quite easy in town after hours.

Great place to stay if you are touring on a motorcycle as they have locked parking . Its very close to the local amenities.

I had a perfect Ensuite Room in the Annex, (next door to the Main Guest House), and had excellent service from Amy and Stella. You couldn't wish for a more friendly Family. Cooked Breakfast may be extra, but worth it; and they will accommodate your every need, IE: if you buy something, it can be microwaved! It's local to the Centre and Tourist attractions. There is a small pretty rear Garden, where if you smoke as I do, you are left alone!. On shopping around, you will see that Travelodge looks cheaper, but they lie about their prices and certainly don't have the ambience that the Red House does.

The Red House was a great find after our bnb fell through. The hostess/cleaner/cook was extremely friendly and made us right at home. They have a great breakfast included or a deluxe breakfast you can pay for extra for. The building is old and spaces tight, but it was clean and budget friendly.

Nice comfortable guest house, good beds and clean. Downside is it’s on a very busy road with a lot of traffic noise that continues all night. The windows didn’t fit well so even though in theory there is double glazing it did not work to keep the noise out and you can’t open the window at night because the noise is too much. No air conditioning either.
