This is a truly exceptional hotel where I will surely come back. Exceptional place with truly wonderful staff. Led by its General Manager Fabian Nusser -warm, approachable, friendly and seemed to take an interest in every guest- the whole team is first class. Concierges led by Olivier (speaks 17 languages!), receptionists, guest relations team, house keeping, restaurant, spa, they all made our family group comfortable following a rocky beginning to our holiday caused by a car accident on our way. Starting by the location, the hotel is just at one end of Gstaad´s main street, which was very convenient for walks, shopping and going out. The train station is very close and the hotel will organise a transfer to cover the 200-300 metre distance. The rooms are nicely decorated and very comfortable, offering good views to the snow covered Eggli part of the mountains. The food was amazing, the restaurant is delicious, first class. My children living in the USA for their studies throughout the year were very pleased they could enjoy a week of haute cuisine for a change from trash american food... 😁 Breakfast was very good: we should not have waited to try the waffles for the last day. A la carte and half board menu are not very extensive but offer just the choice and measure for every taste plus there is some flexibility in case something is not to your liking. It is not often that you see staff anticipate every need and go the extra mile to make your life easy and your stay memorable. The Spa facilities are amongst the best I have experienced in a hotel this category in a ski town. Olivier, Lea, Marta, Verche, Luis, Joaquin, Cameron, Henry and so many others whose names I can´t recall right now made a holiday to remember. Again a special thank you to Mr Nusser as the GM, for leading such a team and for his help, making sure we had a fantastic stay. Everything worked with the precision of a Swiss watch if that makes a good reference... I cannot emphasize enough how pleased, comfortable and happy our family party was throughout. I´d say the little known secrets about this place are the Sushi bar and the movie theatre, which you can book to yourself to watch either their large movie collection (600 titles!) or just to connect your preferred streaming supplier, with drinks and popcorn of your choice. It is a private, low key place with the right decor, a great bar, excellent food, rooms and service. A great family hotel if you are planning to go with your family. They have an inhouse ski shop which worked really well for us, providing top quality equipment for our skiing. As novices to skiing in Gstad, I would recommend taking an ski guide to lead you around the ski domaine so you can find the best spots to ski. Gstaad is low altitude and if you don´t know where to go exactly, it may seem like there is no snow when in fact, you can find snow by knowing where to go... Outside of the hotel we loved eating at Olden (went twice!), coffee at Cappuccino and fondue
