"This hostel has a self-check-in system, which is very convenient. The owner's instructions are very clear; anyone who can read and read can easily understand the check-in process!
It's just 200 meters from the Kunming North Exit to the residential area, very convenient. The area downstairs is lively, with various shops selling a wide variety of goods, including all-you-can-eat fast food for 13 yuan, as well as various desserts, fried rice, and noodle shops…
The only downside is the internet cafe is a bit expensive; the lobby costs 9 yuan per hour… The hostel has a 4-person Xinglan room, which is clean and has one bedroom and one bathroom. If you're lucky, you can have a room to yourself. I was fortunate; the other rooms were almost full, so I had the only room and slept very well.
Just a heads up: the living room is small. The male Xinglan room at this hostel is quite nice, but I only glanced at the other rooms. Avoid the 8-person rooms; they're cramped, and you never know who you'll end up with. It's better to pay an extra 10 yuan for a more comfortable room."

GGuest UserNot really a youth hostel but someone's high rise flat filled with beds on 7th floor. Excellent location near to railway station but difficult to find on the map and you need to ring the owner who doesn't speak English. I've added the photo of the entrance doorway and amended map but you still need to ring the owner to get access. Cramped, only one bathroom for a lot of people, but kitchen with kettle and living area, good budget accommodation for a night, I wouldn't stay here longer.

GGuest UserI booked the Single room because I wanted to have a calm night but I also wanted to socialise that’s why I booked a hostel. First of all the receptionist was the cutest! She helped me with everything and was so kind. My room was big and the view from the balcony was spectacular. BUT the bed was really really really hard. You could feel the metal feather coming through. The receptionist gave me a few blankets to make the bed softer which helped. But if you are a sensitive sleeper I can’t recommend. In the end I slept better than expected. But keep in mind, it’s still a hostel. So, you will hear doors being shut regularly. If you are sensitive this will wake you up. The hostel itself is really cute and nice! The views are amazing. If you want to meet locals this is the perfect place. I didn’t meet any other foreign travelers here though. You can also wash and cook here. So all in all it’s a good and cheap hostel IF you are not a sensitive sleeper.

DDr. JaysWe had an amazing stay , Cookie is a wonderful host, very kind
And pleasant, she speaks English too , she let us check in early and made all arrangements to make our stay comfortable, the rooms are big, well ventilated and opens to beautiful view of the lake. Rooms are well kept and hygienic. The location is ideal for exploring the ethnic village and other tourist attractions. We highly recommend this hotel, we would definitely stay here again.
GGuest UserGood information for finding the place, but it's not that easy.
Slow Wi-Fi
Locker available
No towels
No one to check in; you have to wait outside the entrance for someone from the building to come home.

MMingyuA hotel with a very folk-style environment, it is relatively clean in a village, and behind it is the folk customs. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk from the village to Dianchi Lake. The whole feeling is surrounded by strong ethnic culture. It is a good travel experience. It is also close to eating, and there are more famous ethnic restaurants nearby.
DDurianna85Very nice interior and cool facilities. Piano, guitars, drums, board games, billiards, gym (!), filtered drinking water and very friendly volunteer managers. Location is a bit far from the city centre, but hey. Why would you want to live where the crowds are? Here, there's nice surroundings of the ”industrial park”, a local market near Dayu Rd metro station, a famous lake nearby to enjoy walking, jogging or feeding the gulls. You can also reach the Western Hills park in no time from here.
Not many foreigners in the hostel, I should say. Mostly young Chinese people.
GGuest UserThe staff here is quite nice, they give you a disposable towel (a nightmare for the environment but it's a kind gesture, though), there is free drinking water at the reception and there was a washing machine that was free to use. The building is super interesting and has a very cool cylinder-shaped courtyard where people love taking photos. The building is full of artsy places and cafés. The reception is on another floor and quite far away from the dorm, though. That also means that most people will stay in the dorm, eating, being on phones etc. The problem here is that the hostel failed to put up signs that food isn't allowed in the rooms so you can't point those guests towards it. What is normal in almost every other country isn't normal in this one. Whenever I have a roommate who feels like he needs to burp every 30 seconds, fart and clear his throat at the same time, I want to book a ticket out of this country immediately. At this hostel I was also unlucky in that regard. I'm mentioning this because certain types of hostels attract certain types of people. These Chinese-style squat toilets they have here mean that you will stand in someone else's piss every time you enter the bathroom. And that toilet is right underneath you when you take a shower.

GGuest UserStaying at this hotel was extremely convenient. The most important thing for a hotel is cleanliness, and this hotel is very tidy with incredibly affordable prices. The owner (the lady boss), along with her mother and son, were extremely kind—they helped with everything, provided pick-up and drop-off services, and made the trip very smooth. This was my first time staying at this hotel, and the owner treated me like family. I’m truly grateful! If I visit Kunming again, I’ll definitely stay here once more.

CCê OtuskiThe lady who owns this place is lovely!!!
As I was arriving at KMG airport at 2 in the morning, she woke up when a kind fellow Chinese called her on my behalf, and she came downstairs to pick me up and helped me with my heavy luggage. She's so kind and the room is so cute, that I decided I'd extend my stay here for almost a week!!! Feels like home. Some of the kids who live here longer are amazing and very helpful as well!!! I really enjoyed my stay

PPriscila R FreitasLocation is good you can see the railway station from the window. The room itself is clean and meets our needs, but the walls it shares with the other rooms are plaster, which allows you to hear every noise. The worst part, however, is the bathroom and sinks. The bathroom smells awful, it seems like it's never cleaned, and the individual stalls don't have doors. Towels are also not provided.
