"I really like this hostel, the only downside is that the common area is a bit small. However, the room itself is very spacious and the environment is pleasant. There's even a desk in the room, which is perfect for doing makeup or just putting things down."

MM530805****This hotel is really great, and the location is absolutely superb. You can walk to all the attractions, so there's no need for public transportation. As a hostel, it also feels very safe. The breakfast at 12 euros in the evening and 7 euros in the morning were both good. The front desk staff were also very nice. My only complaint is that the USB charging port was broken. I actually thought my own plug was faulty and went out to buy a new one, only to find out later it was the hotel's. I would definitely stay here again next time.

GGuest UserThe service was very good. The front desk staff was very enthusiastic. They recommended tourist attractions and restaurants to me and cared about me as a traveler. They also had a pleasant chat with us. However, the room was very poor. There were about three rooms with 12 people sharing one bathroom and toilet. The quality of the roommates was average. The bed was very hard. There was a strange smell in the room. I didn't sleep well all night.

GGeiorgiestravelsThe hostel is well located being only a couple of minutes walk from a metro station. Easy to get to an airport bus. The 8 bed dorms are well designed with each bed having a light, charging point and spaces to place items. The steps up the ladder are wide enough to place your whole foot, and the is a pole to hold on to making it easy to climb in and out of the top bunk. The area at the end of the room has a locker for each bed - lockers able to store even a large suitcase ( bring your own padlock ). The lockers even have a pole and one hanger inside which is handy. This area has stools and a lamp at the side if the locker meaning someone in that area can put on light without having to put on an overhead light and disturbing everyone. The layout is practical and well designed. The shared toilets and shower rooms are in the corridor. They are modern and clean and sufficient that I was never waiting. Laundry costs £9 for a wash and dry. There is only one washer and one drier meaning there were a few times I wanted to do my laundry and it was occupied. The kitchen is large and includes seating in this area. The kitchen is popular with people cooking; it is well equipped with regards to pots, pans and dishes, however lacks utensils which can make preparing food tricky, I had to prepare fried eggs using a fork to flip them. Difficult to find knives, forks and spoons to eat with. fortunately I travel with my own fork and spoon. There is 24 hour reception, bar, common room, patio, swimming pool, security doors making it feel more like a hotel rather than hostel. Modern and safe feel. Highly recommended.

GGuest UserA Home Away from Home – Perfect Location & Amazing Vibes! This is hands down one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! It truly felt like a home away from home. The beds are super comfortable, the entire place is clean and well-kept, and the staff are absolutely wonderful—friendly, helpful, and always ready with a smile. The location couldn’t be better. It’s easily accessible by metro from the airport—just grab a TMB metro card (very cheap and convenient), take Line 9 to the interchange with Line 1, and get off at Urquinaona. From there, it’s just a 3-minute walk to the hostel. You’re close to everything! If you're looking for a cozy, clean, and well-connected place to stay in the city, this is it. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe hostel is in a great location; turn left and you're right in the middle of Las Ramblas. The Liceu metro station is just steps away, and the ATM is in front of the hostel. The reception is open 24/7, so checking in at 2 AM and checking out at 3 AM was very convenient. The staff is extremely kind and helpful, and they deserve the highest rating. The room is very small but perfect for a short stay where it's only used as a base and for sleeping. The only downside is the bathroom; it was advertised as having a private bathroom, but it was shared with two other rooms. Unfortunately, it was dirty and there was no wastebasket. Overall, we didn't have many expectations; we were interested in having a base in the city center. If you're looking for a short stay, it's ideal; you'll save around €200 compared to a hotel, but it's clear that there are some small drawbacks, like the bathroom and the inconvenient access to the room.

GGuest UserThis was by far the best hostel I stayed at, and also the cheapest! It's a large operation, run with ruthless Catholic discipline. It's very clean, very ordered, very comfortable. Compared to other hostels as well it does not run a catchpenny operation - linen is free, breakfast is free, luggage storage is free, etc. All these things are used by other hostels to up to double the cost of your stay. The staff were very pleasant, and spoke English. One night there was a customer who was unruly - refused to turn their light off at about 3am - the staff came, remonstrated with him, and eventually (he wouldn't relent) told him to leave the hostel. In other hostels you would be left to suffer the tyranny of an ignorant customer. Booking is understandably very tight - book early and for your whole stay. After a disastrous previous hostel in Rome, this was a necessary restoration of my faith in travelling.

LLonely Railway ExplorerI took a train from Malaysia to Europe, please watch my YouTube channel Lonely Railway Explorer to know more. I stay here for 1 night transit. The price is affordable, all the accommodation in Europe are crazy high. The room I will say cozy, and you got your private storage, and the mattress and pillow are super comfortable. The curtain rail on your bed is for your privacy, inside your bed also got light and two power socket. But the main door closed and hard to bell and call them, please prepare the phone number incase you stuck at outside like me. Negative experience is the toilet, too tiny, and the water supply is a problem, you need too keep pressing the 10 sec button when you shower. And if your room got 4 pax, so you need to waiting tour turn in the morning.

SSyed Ali Abb@s RizviOverall, a good stay with a Few Minor Issues I stayed at Safestay Barcelona Gothic from June 17–18, 2025, in a 12-bed mixed dorm. The experience was mostly positive. ✅ Pros: The location is excellent — just a 5-minute walk from the metro, which made it easy to get around. If you have an early flight (like mine at 08:30), this is a good place to stay as you can easily reach the airport in time. The dorm, bathrooms, and common areas were all neat and clean. Wi-Fi worked well throughout my stay. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. Definitely value for money. ⚠️ Cons: The check-in time listed in my confirmation email was 14:00, but they didn’t allow check-in until 15:00. This was a bit inconvenient. Breakfast was not included in the booking. Overall, it’s a decent and budget-friendly option in a central area, especially for solo or budget travellers. I would recommend it for short stays.
