JAZ Palmariva Beach

What a fabulous hotel. Went on hols with my daughter for 6 days to celebrate her birthday whilst there. Arrived just after midnight to a warm and quick welcome so that we could get to our room. Loved the new refurbished room, had everything we needed and very comfortable. Shout out to housekeeping for a sterling job, very clean rooms and smiles every day. Every member of staff we met were lovely, I'll review the animation team separately but a special mention to the bar team members Ghad, Hossam & Mohamed who looked after us so well and were very attentive and polite. A special mention for Ossama, Restaurant Manager, who went the extra step to make my daughter's birthday breakfast and restaurant visits that little bit extra special. The restaurant serving team and chef's need a big thank you also. Service is delivered across the team so difficult to mention any one person, but again all so friendly, polite and a very efficient service. We only had a couple of drinks in the hotel main bar but Ibraheim was wonderful and everyone mentioned took the time, as work allowed, to speak to us regularly. We felt very welcome, always. Lifeguard Mohamed made the sunshade a special Birthday one. I asked for help trying to ut up some surprise banners for my daughter but couldn't reach the shade, so he said "give me 20 mins and come back". We had breakfast first at a table covered in flowers, see pic and were amazed at the shade transformation when we got there, not just banners but a big sign, extra banners and tinsel. Just lovely! They also have a red tie for the sunshade to advise excursion and other sellers that you here for Relax and Rest, so they don't come to you, this was brilliant. I do have to say though that if you don't want to accept any trips or treatments, a polite no is accepted straight away. The location is great to, we only went off the resort just twice for diving, Piano Diving is about a 15 minute walk along the beach, and for Safari Quad biking, about an 8 minute walk down the beach. We did go snorkelling as the beach is in a bay and the water is so clear. You can get sunbed towels and cold water bottles from hydration stations on the beach, this is brilliant as I'd never seen it before The pool layout needs a mention to. It's large for swimmers but has several shallow, outer island areas for younger pool visitors, it's very well thought out. This also allows lots of sunbed options for those prefering full sun to more shady areas. We had no problem with noise at any time and joined in the animation team activities. The evening had entertainment for about 30 mins at 9pm, then the lovely spacious terrace provided space to relax and chill in the evening. At 10.30pm, the animation team would gather us to go to the Coc Loco Club on the beach, about a 6 min walk but very safe, and here we danced and sang and had great fun until around 12.30/1am. This is not part of the all inclusive drinks package but that didn't mat

The location of the hotel is great! That’s where it ends. I don’t know whether to blame EasyJet or Jaz hotels. The hotel changed ownership the day after we arrived. I had purposely chosen a Labranda hotel having stayed at many others in Morocco, Turkey & Rhodes. EasyJet failed to tell us about the change or offer anything else. Problems started on day one. I had specifically stated on booking that I needed a GF room as my partner has a serious heart condition & COPD. We were given a first floor room with no lift! Plus a room with no balcony or patio having been told that all rooms had them. It took several complaints to reception & Easyjet and it was rectified. Several of the following days were like holidaying in a building site. Management had decided to start renovations around the poor unsuspecting guests - knocking down a pool bar with drilling & banging and various buildings on the beach. Day 5 saw me go down with a sickness illness (food/flies who knows) .in over 20 years of coming to Egypt I’ve never had anything like it! None of the medicines I had with me touched it! Went the pharmacist after speaking to my daughter in Uk (a GP). Pharmacist diagnosed dysentery & is currently treating for me for that. Symptoms are improving but not gone yet. Back to my room to bed to rest….but no! Management decided that the soap dispensers in bathrooms must be changed to their logo! So drilling In my bathroom, not even cleaning up the mess they made. Luckily my room cleaner came along a little later. Full marks for my cleaner, he does a superb job! Also full marks for Turbo & Viola (part of the entertainment crew) they do a fabulous job keeping people’s spirits up. I can’t comment on the food as I am still only eating dry bread & occasionally a boiled egg. Now I come to the problem of the flies! I have never been to a hotel in Egypt where they don’t spray the gardens with insecticide. The flies here are horrendous. We have been buying a product in the pharmacy called ‘Off’, just about keeps them at bay. When we arrived at Labranda , reception smelt of Jasmine spray & no flies, now at Jaz reception it smells of stale cooking & flies everywhere! I am now on day 11 of my holiday, & I can’t wait to go home. I started coming out here in the 1990s & I’ve never been this disappointed with a holiday.

Well the hotel is nice but it has to be renovated cuz it's an old hotel otherwise we had a such a good time in it and we wish next time to be better

I've already written a hotel review but wanted to write a separate one for the hard working and wonderful Animation team. Having had a few all inclusive holidays, the Labranda Club / JAZ Palmariva Beach team stand out. Hard working, constant smiles, but if you took the time to chat with them, despite being very busy, they always took the time to chat. Special mention to Mahdi (Let's Go!), Julia & Junior (best aqua aerobics) who we got to know quite well, as much as 6 days allows. Special mention also to Turbo and Wess from Labranda Royal who also took the the time to chat and offer some crazy dance moves. I traveled with my daughter so we did take advantage of Coco Loco Club after 10.30pm and it was wonderful how the whole animation team just welcomed her onto the dance floor night after night, like she was one of the team. It made our holiday very special so thank you Animation team - you are all brilliant young people - you rock!

Just want to say thank you so much to all the staff at Makadi Bay, they honestly are so kind and attentive it’s unreal, I want to put out a massive shoutout to mohammed our cleaner, everyday he had a smile and welcomed us aswell as doing an outstanding job of cleaning our room daily My only issue is stay away from the perfume shop down by the ampitheatre as you wont get left alone as soon as you enter the shop, i had to drag my other half out as the guy just would not take no for an answer but apart from that it was an incredible holiday One more thing please make sure you book your excursions before you arrive as otherwise you will most certainly be overcharged massively
