The Grand Resort

The Grand Resort ★★★★★

📍 Corniche Road, Touristic Villages, Hurghada

"We had a pleasant 10-night stay at the Grand Resort in Hurghada. The location is excellent, and the pools and outdoor areas are great. However, I wasn't a fan of the buffet. The selection was varied, but the quality and flavors didn't really impress me. On the other hand, the hotel's Marrakech restaurant was excellent: the dishes were delicious."

📍 Km 8 Safaga Soma Bay Road, Soma Bay

"I stayed from May 17th to 26th, and the hotel was excellent. It's an all-inclusive resort. I was greeted well at reception, and got my room shortly after. The restaurants were good, always offering seafood dishes, and the waiters were fantastic. Everything in the hotel worked perfectly. The beach was perfectly clean, and there were always free sunbeds available. I enjoyed all the excursions. Thanks!"

AJIRA Resort Sahl Hashish ★★★★

📍 Azzura, Hurghada 1, Hurghada

"The power went out 6 or 7 times a day. The wifi went down when the power went out. Everything else was OK. The food was good, the people were friendly, and I thought it was clean, not as dirty as people say online. The location was quiet."

Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay
9.5 (186 reviews)

Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay ★★★★★

📍 Soma Bay Safaga Road, Soma Bay

"I stayed at three hotels along the Red Sea this time, and I liked the Kempinski the most. Somali Bay is absolutely stunning on a clear day. The hotel room was a bit dated, but the cleanliness was excellent. We booked a garden view room, but were given a partial sea view – a wonderful surprise! The HB package was great; we were quite satisfied with both breakfast and dinner. One evening we even happened to be there for Easter, so the food was more plentiful than usual, but there were also many white people, and we had to queue for many things. The service was excellent. Check-in in the lobby was straightforward; we just sat and waited, and we were checked in within 5 minutes. Plus, the mango scent in the lobby was wonderful!"

Steigenberger Aldau Beach Hotels in Hurghada

Steigenberger Aldau Beach

"We hired a car from Luxor to Hurghada and chose this all-inclusive hotel. The hotel is located in a small town with a main street lined with hotels and restaurants. The hotel is large, with many interconnected swimming pools and water features. Our room's balcony overlooked a heated pool with water around 30 degrees Celsius, where many adults and children were playing. There were also various water sports facilities, including beach volleyball, table tennis, and a diving club. Best of all, it had my favorite 900-meter running track. The food was quite plentiful, but I had some stomach discomfort for the past couple of days, so I didn't eat too much. There was live music indoors and outdoor performances every evening, making for a lively atmosphere."

Doubletree By Hilton Mangroovy El Gouna Resort Hotels in Hurghada

Doubletree By Hilton Mangroovy El Gouna Resort

"We had a wonderful week at DoubleTree Mangroovy, the hotel is brand new, rooms are spacious and spotless, and the location near Abu Tig marina is perfect. What truly made our stay memorable was the incredible staff, especially Arwa at reception, who went above and beyond with her warmth and excellent local tips. Breakfast was delicious and varied, and the private beach was a great bonus. The only minor downsides were the quiet atmosphere (don't expect lively animation) and slightly limited dinner options some nights, but it didn't spoil our experience. My advice: rent a tuk-tuk to explore El Gouna's islands and ask Arwa for recommendations, she's a gem. We'll definitely be back."

The Grand Resort ★★★★★
"Over all the experience was fine however i think there is chance of improvement that can take the hotel to totally new level. Negative feedback: Rooms needs to be renewed for real and make it matching more with modern rooms, room have clear smell of old rotten clothes, but room service was still doing amazing job on cleaning the room and make it smell better , but once the air fragrance is done room smell back again, I don’t recommend first floor in the center for families with kids as literally so noisy and can keep hearing people keep going and coming and can wake up your baby, but i can only blame myself as i choose to be in center. The pools is nice but the Island resturant requests operations is weird Its called pool restaurant at the same time they ask you not to come wet and dont come from pool side directly to the restaurant!!! So why your making a ladder directly from pool to restaurant then ask guests not to use and go all around to to to the restaurant. I had an emergency and wanted the clinic as my son finger was hurt and went there and it was closed and not working with no time or schudele added in the door Lucky for me the resturant manager behind the clinic helped me out and got me some stuff to solve issue Thanks Mr Ahmed along with the pool boy. Positive feedback: Best service ever everywhere specially at the main restaurant i even went to best hotels in Egypt before didn’t get an amazing services like this, every one of the stuff literally helping from the heart and makes you feel welcomed Keep up the amazing work and work the negative feedback definitely would come back and next will be 10 out of 10 enshallah"

Amarina Abu Soma Resort & Aquapark ★★★★★
"Overall, the hotel is good, and the stay was enjoyable. However, the main downside is the location, as it is around 50 km away from Hurghada. Another issue is with local taxis. Unfortunately, some taxi drivers overcharge tourists and ask for payment in Euros, which is not fair. For example, if you are paying around 90 Euros per night for the hotel, it does not make sense to pay 40 Euros for a taxi ride. By Egyptian law, payments should officially be made in Egyptian Pounds, not foreign currency. Some taxi drivers may ask for around 2400 EGP for a trip, which is far above the normal local price. Situations like this can negatively affect the hotel’s reputation and may cause the hotel to lose customers in the long term, even though the issue is not directly the hotel’s fault. A much better solution is to use Uber or similar ride apps, where the same trip can cost around 500 EGP with transparent pricing."

Elysees Dream Beach Hotel-By AMARINA Hotels & Resorts ★★★★
"The service was absolutely terrible. We booked a sea view room, but the front desk gave us a regular room instead, seemingly reserving the sea view rooms for Caucasian guests. Our attempts to switch rooms with the front desk were fruitless. When we asked for a refund for the price difference, they refused to give us our money back. It was just a completely unscrupulous display of behavior. Ultimately, we complained to Ctrip. Their customer service intervened and arranged for us to switch rooms the next day, but the hotel still refused to refund the price difference for the first night. In the end, Ctrip covered the price difference for us on behalf of the hotel. A big thank you to Ctrip for that."

"The dining is exquisite, with unlimited drinks, and the food itself is delicious. The only drawback is the lack of signage in the hotel rooms, making them a bit difficult to find. However, it gets better after staying a few more days and getting used to it."

Kempinski Hotel Soma Bay ★★★★★
"There weren't many Chinese tourists when I went in April, mostly foreigners. Luckily, the weather was nice both days. The room with a direct ocean view was just okay, but the garden and side ocean view rooms looked nice. Maybe it's just my Chinese palate, but I found the breakfast very average – mostly eggs and bread. Dinner was alright, but my travel companions didn't like it. Kokomo and a burger joint in the nearby shopping street were pretty good. It's a bit of a 20-minute walk to the jetty; you can take a free shuttle bus or a paid shuttle (US$3 per ride). The hotel service was quite good. They generally greeted us and asked our questions proactively. They called our room the day before check-out to ask what time we were leaving and arranged for a concierge to collect our luggage. Since we checked out at 6:30, they even prepared a breakfast box and coffee for us (the box was very generous, containing two bread rolls, yogurt, juice, mineral water, and fruit). Overall, it was a very good experience."

"We have stayed at the Grand Makardi 6 times over the last few years, but this is the first time since the outside renovation work has been completed. We always have a fabulous time but this year topped it. The work that has been put into the pool and restaurants is fantastic, the new restaurants are great. It is also lovely to see the same old faces from the gardener's to pool lads to management. The lads on the bar at the top bar where the entertainment is held are great and again the same faces that we have seen over years ( good morning & masoud comsa) See you next year xx"
