My experience at the elite world marmaris hotel Check in was fast, friendly, efficient. Although we arrived early, we were pleasantly surprised to find our room was ready straightaway. The man that showed us to our room seemed very nervous and spoke very quickly so I'm not sure I really absorbed all of the information he was trying to share. I assumed that he was new in his role and settling in. Room was on the 4th floor and facing the infamous Shake Bar, I'd read all the reviews and thought it may be an inconvenience but I'm very easygoing and really how bad could it be? Went to lunch, which was standard buffet fare. Fresh salads and breads. Wine was good enough for me. After lunch we walked back through the lobby and met the Guest Relations person Mr Can who showed us around, told us not to jump the wall to the next hotel(!?) and then proceeded to survey us as to our opinions on the hotel which was odd to say the least, coming just seconds after an orientation. The beach is lovely, co**** gravelly sand with a gentle slope into Crystal clear water. Beds are fine but not overly comfortable and I'd advise a visit to the spa to collect your towel before you attempt to sit on the plastic mattress. Ouch! The attendants are on hand to help with your bed or umbrella or chase off anyone without a hotel wristband. There is a fridge with water to help yourself but no other drinks at the beach. The buffet quickly becomes boring. The salad area at first glance seems large and varied but it never changes at all at lunch or dinner. What appears to be 5 salads is in fact the same but chopped differently or with tuna or orange sprinkled on top. The array of cheeses available at breakfast is reduced to just 1 at lunch and dinner. The hot food is very disappointing. Every day chips or wedges, rice and grilled chicken. There is usually some sort of meat casserole and pasta and a fish. Vegetarians rarely hve a hot option at lunch or dinner. The aubergines and peppers are stuffed with meat and there's usually mince in the pasta too. Drinks are served to the table during meals. This is generally one man, Ali, running around trying to help everyone whilst three others stand in the door saying hello. Poor guy must be exhausted everyday but always smiles, chats and tries his very best. We found all of the staff to be super friendly, helpful and hardworking, especially the bar tenders and coffee shop batistas. The only exception to this would be the front desk staff, who look a little scared when you approach, if they are there at all, had to visit several times when key cards stopped working. The snack bar is open most of the afternoon and is a life saver. The pizza is fab and the onion ring portions amazing! I wouldn't usually eat pizza more than once a week at most but had lunch here at least 7 times over our 9 day stay. Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. Playing hunt the towels was good, sometimes in the bathroom, sometimes on the bed, sometimes jus
